DEFIANCE – 3.03 “Broken Bough” Someone Gets Terminated & Rahm Tak Makes a Terrible Warlord

Nolan reading highlights of Irisa’s novel is hilarious! Too bad Berlin came in bearing bad news and ended the fun. Lookie there! It’s our very own Boris and Natasha, Stahma and Datak!

Datak lies like a rug! The Castithan laied it on a little too thick when he spoke of his war injuries and made me think his war stories are somewhat like fish stories. Always bigger than they really are! The couple didn’t mourn long however, and totally busted their servant with some alone time in the tub! Whoopsie!

It seems Datak’s shock was genuine when Stahma slit her daughter-in-laws throat and he wasted no time in confronting is bride in her ferocity. Too bad his righteous indignation was spoiled when he was too sore to get in the tub. Poor guy, Stahma always wins!

Meanwhile T’evgin’s had a Slinky Moment in the market and soon encountered Lady Tarr who may have met her match in Daddy Omec. I am going to love seeing the two of them circle each other like sharks! That’s our Stahma always looking for an angle.

After the Castithan’s tale of woe Nolan immediately sets off in search of someone to kill. However, he was quick to point out he has some serious reservations on Irisa’s mindset. The two quickly stumble upon Mad Pilar and are introduced to the infant Bear. How sweet!

The pair soon realized Pilar was lying and made haste in securing baby bear despite Nolan’s misgivings. It was adorable seeing Irisa get all maternal! Nolan’s interaction with the infant was interesting. That’s our Nolan! So nurturing with “Zip it munchkin!”

Nolans plan to infiltrate Ram Tak’s camp went astray, but all’s well that ends well. The Mississippi Two Step saved the day! Pilar finally got what she deserved and the Tarr’s were finally reunited with their grandson. Sometimes you do get a happy ending!

Ram Tak for his part is really enjoying his newly stolen knife. Victim, captive Raif gets a ringside seat in the Warlords Camp. Bless his heart, he trys to hold out but, one swipe and Raif is done! The look on Rahm Tak’s face when he heard the “Butcher of Yosemite” is after him was glorious!  He was practically wistful!  Too bad he makes a terrible barbarian. He kind of killed the evil vibe when the Butcher line failed.

Observations
• “We’re at war kiddo. And you’ve become an unreliable partner.” Iris needs to pull her shit together.
• Ram Tak throws a most excellent tantrum.
• I cannot begin to describe how happy I am to see antoher Castithan Bath Scene. Those are some amazing beads!
• I missed seeing Kindizi this episode.
