The Good Wife 6.15 – ‘Open Source’ Cutthroat Politics….Whatever!
Lesson number one: Don’t print out a gun that you downloaded from the internet. It’s the digital age folks and Wiki Weapons are all the rage. Right up until the point where they fail. Miserably.
Can software kill? Diane and Cary have teamed up with Finn Polmar suing the gun designer. Diane made it a family affair by bringing in an expert witness in the form of her husband, Kurt McVeigh.
Oh Lookie! The doofus is back! The perpetually confused act from Nancy Crozier is getting very annoying! Speaking of annoying, when the gun designer shows his crazy on the stand forcing Nancy to offer a settlement, no one can seem to agree!
All comes to a successful resolution, but not without some major friction between Diane and Kurt. Their very different political views get in the way which had the potential of driving a wedge between the couple. Thankfully they were able to agree on one thing. Their love and respect for the other.
Lesson Two: Don’t trust Louis Canning. EVER.
Louis Canning is back from the proverbial dead. Again. Goodness! That guy has more lives on this show than any cat I’ve ever scene! In a rare moment of generosity based on the donation of a live saving kidney, he wants to liquidate all his stocks (eighteen million of them) and donate them to the donor family. He needs her help because his lawyer (David Lee) is not returning his calls. It turns out David actually isn’t the evil one this time. The recipients family wants to give the money to a pro Palestinian group.
Honestly, huge red flags should have gone up in Alicia’s mind anytime Louis is nice about anything. That action paired with David Lee’s performance should have given Alicia enough information to see Canning’s ruse. Bonus points goes to Eli and his minions for hearing the rumblings and saving Alicia from a disastrous miss-step.
Lesson Three: Sometimes you just have to take a leap. Frank Prady is getting beat up by his Campaign Manager “You are too nice.” Frank continues to stand his ground. “I won’t smear her.” His team convinces him to go after Peter instead. This causes Alicia’s team to distance itself from her husband. I agree with the body woman, Marissa. “This is like High School!
It’s the battle of the Campaign Managers and Eli divines Alicia’s plans and he’s not a happy camper! Mr. Gold gives Johnny an ultimatum. Trash Peter and your career is toast! Mr. Elfman caves and asks Ms. Florrick to change tactics. Marisa gets wind of his tactics and calls bullshit. I loved her taking Johnny to task on allowing Eli to bully him.
In the end caution is thrown to the wind. Alicia stands up against her husbands policies, shares a lovely moment with Prady and Johnny makes a move.
Observations:
• I loved Alicia’s honesty with the weasel Canning. “My daughter is praying for you. So that’s good….I don’t want you to die Mr. Canning. Okay? I know you’re a bad man, but i sort of miss you. I know that’s weird. I don’t know why. I seem to have some bad boy issues. Get well Mr. Canning.”
• Alicia continued to rock when she and Frank shared an honest moment together. “You are better than I am.” I am totally Team Alicia, but really hope she doesn’t win. Frank is most definitely the better candidate.
• Go Johnny for rising to the occasion in standing up to Eli and admitting his feelings. “Whatever!”
