THE GOOD WIFE 6.11 – ‘Hail Mary’ Convict School, Got Milk & Bad Metadata
Cary is attending Convict School and this dude is harsh. I suppose, with what the guy is facing he needs tough love, however this guys methods are surprising.
Convict School 101 Rules
1. Find a friend.
2. Treat inmates as toddlers
3. Who do you trust? Really.
4. Get laid
Wowzers! The poor guy looks like he was just hit by a sledgehammer and for a while it seemed as if Agos would buckle under the strain and flee the country. Good think he didn’t cause after a very messy bit of hoop jumping he was set free. Poof! The ordeal is over, however I think Kalinda’s has just begun.
Kalinda goes to Bishop begs for forgiveness for her past errors, chief among them being her threat to his son. She learns a lesson in friendship form the Drug Lord. “To have a friend, you must be one.” Lemond instructs her: “Say Yes”
Ms. Sharma was quite busy this episode and after a good lead went bad, resorts to desperate measures. When her search for a Brady Violation fails she succumbs to temptation and “creates” one instead. All of this is interrupted by a successful lead which comes both just in time and too late at the same time. Too late, because Diane unknowingly used her manufactured evidence and Just in time, for the second lead to score Cary’s freedom.
Que the ringing phone from Lemond and Kalinda is in quite a mess. Will she answer the call from Lemond? Since we know she is leaving the show, I suspect the Drug Lord is the beginning of this investigator’s end.
Meanwhile Eli is prepping Alicia unsuccessfully for her upcoming debate with Prady. Enter Dr. Adrian Fluke as stand in for Prady. Sadly Dr. Fluke turned out to be a bit of a flake that even a glass of milk wouldn’t help. This forces Eli to call in the “Big Guns” with the appearance of Finn Polmar. Alicia and Flinn enter into a brilliant and spirited debate which quickly fizzled upon the Governor’s arrival and subsequent intervention. Look out! The Governor’s a bit touchy even when it’s not real.
This debacle led to Polmar’s wise choice to Exit: stage -left and Peter taking the podium as Alicia’s sparring partner. Now anyone with half a brain could see this would result in disaster. You know just how bad, when after only a few moments, Eli pulled the plug!
Observations:
• I am completely in love with Marissa Gold! She’s smart and funny and has this strange lactose obsession which has us all in stitches. She had the best quote of the night when Daddy Dearest tried to solicit her intervention with Alicia. “I’m her body woman. Not her fluffer.” God! it’s characters like this that make this show so wonderful!
• And here I was all this time thinking Polmar was the only potential love interest for Alicia. Her kiss completely took us by surprise. And, by the look on Elfman’s face so was he!
