Outlander: See Pilot Episode a Week Earlier

The pilot episode of the new Starz drama Outlander that is adapted from the Diane Gabaldon international best-selling books with Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica) serving as showrunner will be available for free online ONE WEEK before its planned premiere on the network, which is set for August 9.

According to the folks over at Entertainment Weekly, the first Outlander episode will be put online on August 2.

Fans should also take note that Starz will air the first eight (8) episodes of the 16-episode debut season of Outlander consecutively from Saturday August 9 through Saturday, September 27. Then the show will go on winter hiatus, with the remaining eight episodes set to air on the cabler in early 2015.

UPDATE FROM STARZ: Approximately 82 million multichannel video households will have access to the premiere episode via additional linear, on-demand and/or online sampling opportunities on select cable, satellite and telco affiliates in the United States as well as online through select websites including Starz.com/Outlander, the Starz “Outlander” Twitter page, the Starz YouTube page, Starz “Outlander” Facebook Page and the free STARZ PLAY app for all users in the United States.
