Last weekend at Comic Con 2012, the cast – Eddie McClintock, Joanne Kelly, Saul Rubinek and Allison Scagliotti – and executive producer – Jack Kenny – of the popular Syfy series Warehouse 13 took part in a panel inside Ballroom 20 at the San Diego Convention Center with Damian Holbrooke from TV Guide acting as moderator.

Given what happened in the season finale – SPOILER ALERT (for those who aren’t caught up yet)! – where Warehouse 13 was completely destroyed and Miss Frederick was killed, the biggest question on the minds of the fans was: what happens next for Pete, Myka, Artie and Claudia?

Neither Jack nor the cast were willing or able to give away any spoilers, but Jack did share that there will be an eight episode arch focused on Artie (Saul Rubinek) that will feature recurring guest star Brent Spiner (of Star Trek fame), who Saul stated is “one of his best friends” and fans will get to see the backstory of Claudia’s time in the asylum.

They then surprised the packed panel room with a sneak peek at upcoming scenes for season 4 and Saul shared they have a ‘secret weapon’ – Jack Kenny. Unlike many other shows on the air right now, Warehouse 13 has Jack Kenny on set with them at all times. He is always right there whenever they have a question about the script; they don’t have to make calls from Toronto to the writers’ room in California.

Each of the cast members were then asked what characteristic they share with their characters. Allison quickly chimed in “how are we not like them after four years?” Jack then piped in that they “write to the strengths and rhythms” of each cast member and that “they are a joy to write for and that we (the writers) all build the characters together. Joanne then shared that she has Myka’s stubborn streak. And rather than talking about a shared characteristic, Saul stated that “this is the best role I’ve ever had”.

During the audience Q&A portion of the panel, they were asked if the badge worn by Jack Carter on Eureka could have been an artifact, given the fact there were always so many bad events that took place in Eureka. This question, of course, made the audience burst into laughter and made Jack enthusiastically answer “Yes!”. As fans of Warehouse 13 (and Eureka) know, characters from both shows crossed over for episodes in seasons past. In line with that question, a fan asked if Warehouse 13 would know pay a visit to Alphas; but Jack didn’t think a cross-over would work as well between the two shows simply because Alphas is a bit more “gritty and real”.

Joanne was then asked which episode in season three did she consider the most challenging; and she answered the finale then chimed in that she also “liked the stuff with H.G. Wells (recurring guest star Jamie Murray).

The entire cast was asked which adversary has been the greatest foe throughout the seasons and Saul answered on behalf of the cast, saying that McPherson (recurring guest star Roger Rees), but also raved about Roger’s performance.

The one question that got a big chuckle out of the audience and the panelists as well was when a fan asked “if there were an artifact at Comic Con, what would it be and what would it do?” Their answers are as follows:

• “Put some clothes on some of the young women who decide to wear only some clothes.” – Eddie
• “An artifact that removes the body odor that’s inside the storm troopers.” – Jack
• “There should be a guest pass that helps you bypass the lines to get you into any panel you want.” – Allison

The cast is currently halfway through filming the current season already while TV fans can tune in to Syfy for the season premiere of Warehouse 13 tonight at 9 PM.
