Nice Boy of the Week: Carter MacIntyre
He may not be a household name (yet!), but Carter MacIntyre is going to be getting a lot more attention now that he is starring as a guardian angel on the beloved Lifetime drama Drop Dead Diva, making him a perfect choice for Nice Boy of the Week.
In a recent conference call, Carter shared that he “grew up in Roswell (Georgia) until he was 10 years old and then ended up moving to Cape Cod and then moved back to Buckhead (Georiga) for high school”. The ironic part of that statement is that Drop Dead Diva is filmed on location in Atlanta, which – in a round-about way – brings him “back home” to film a role that will assuredly leave an indelible mark with TV viewers.
You see Carter has taken over the role of guardian angel to plus-size lawyer Jane Bingham in Drop Dead Diva, a role that was previously held by actor Ben Feldman, a fan favorite. To say the least, Carter will have a challenge ahead of himself to endear the devoted fans of Drop Dead Diva to his character Luke Daniels, but he is the perfect person to handle the job.
Prior to landing this plum role, Carter got his first big break in the short-lived telenovela American Heiress before making appearances in TV shows like Smith, ER, The Mentalist, Bones, Nip/Tuck, Trauma and CSI: NY. Avid TV viewers may recognize him for his role of Leo Nash on the short-lived, but much buzzed about NBC series Undercovers, though.
It should also be noted that during the aforementioned conference call Carter shared three things that people don’t know about him, including his childhood obsession with wiffle ball, his love of the video game Battlefield Bad Company and that he considers himself a bit of a “science nerd” because he has a fascination with psychology. In fact, he admits he was one class away from a minor in the field while attending college. Let’s hope he can put that skill to work in his role as Luke on Drop Dead Diva, as I’m sure it will come in handy.
Drop Dead Diva airs its next new episode this Sunday on Lifetime at 9/8c.
