NICE BOY OF THE WEEK: Liam Hemsworth

By  |
Our nice boy of the week, Liam Hemsworth, is becoming a household name quickly due to his role as Gale Hawthorne is the upcoming movie adaptation of the popular book series The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins.

Liam was born in Melbourne, Australia and is the younger brother of actors Chris Hemsworth (Thor) and Luke Hemsworth (The Elephant Princess). Following in the footsteps of his brothers, he appeared on shows Home and Away and McLeod’s Daughters but got his big break on the Australian soap opera Neighbours in 2007. He then had roles on The Elephant Princess and Satisfaction before catching the eye of Hollywood. He then played Spencer in Knowing but became very popular after starring in The Last Song with Miley Cyrus.

In April 2011, Lionsgate announced that Liam would be playing Gale Hawthorne, one of the leads in The Hunger Games; fans were beyond excited to see this handsome Aussie take on the role of Gale. He has been on the cover of many magazines including Entertainment Weekly, People, Flaunt and Details to name a few.

On March 6, 2012 I was lucky enough to meet Liam at The Hunger Games Mall Tour in Atlanta and I have to say he is even sexier in person than you can imagine. During the Q&A he was asked what it is like to be in a film this big, he responded “Pretty Scary.” He also admitted that if he wasn’t an actor he would probably be a magic clown because he loves clowns and magic. Isn’t that the cutest thing? His accent and beautiful smile can make any girl swoon, but more importantly he was genuinely nice to the fans. During the Q&A he said to the 1000+ fans “You guys are the nicest people I’ve ever met. I love you all! I love you.” And we love you too Liam. That is why there was no question in my mind that you would be our nice boy of the week.

Make sure to catch Liam as Gale Hawthorne in The Hunger Games in theaters and IMAX  March 23rd 2012.
