Good Witch Movie Marathon

By  |

In preparation for the season 6 premiere of Good Witch on the Hallmark Channel, a movie marathon of all The Good Witch movies that aired from 2008 through 2014 as well as the Halloween movies that coincided with each season of the TV series Good Witch is set to air on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries all day Saturday, leading into the early hours of Sunday.

If you are a fan of the movie franchise and/or the weekly TV series, you’ll want to check out how it all got started.

Let’s take a look at the schedule of this marathon, starting early in the morning on Saturday, May 2:

The Good Witch (2008) at 6 AM. This is the debut of the franchise.

When Cassandra Nightingale (Catherine Bell) moves into a small town’s supposedly “haunted house” and opens an aromatherapy shop, she changes the lives of the local residents with her magical ways.

NOTE: Fans of the franchise should remember that in this debut movie, Martha Tinsdale wanted nothing more than to get Cassie out of Middleton. Brandon and Lori were young children, portrayed by Matthew Knight and Hannah Endicott-Douglas.

The Good Witch’s Garden (2009) at 8 AM

Cassie Nightingale has finally found a home at stately Grey House and her relationship with handsome police chief Jake Russell (Chris Potter) is blossoming when mysterious stranger Nick Chasen (guest star Rob Stewart) arrives in town.

The Good Witch’s Gift (2010) at 10 AM

Cassie Nightingale always has a few tricks up her sleeve, but is surprised when her handsome fiancé, chief of police Jake Russell, proposes they set their wedding date for Christmas Eve—only six days away!

The Good Witch’s Family (2011) at 12 Noon

Cassie Nightingale and her family receive a visit from Abigail (Sarah Power), a mysterious woman who claims to be Cassie’s cousin after discovering her name on a family tree.

The Good Witch’s Charm (2012) at 2 PM

Cassie Nightingale has her hands full juggling her job as mayor and new motherhood so she is looking forward to a planned family vacation. However, a crime wave in town and a reporter threaten the plans.

NOTE: This is the first time Brandon’s girlfriend, later his wife, Tara is introduced, then played by Ashley Leggat.

The Good Witch’s Destiny (2013) at 4 PM

All Cassie wants for her birthday is for her family and friends to be together, but new family member Gwen’s estranged son makes trouble for Cassie.

The Good Witch’s Wonder (2014) at 6 PM

Cassie Nightingale is helping to plan her stepson’s wedding when she takes in a mysterious woman (guest star Rachel Wilson) who has drifted into town. Coinciding with the woman’s arrival, Cassie’s town is faced with a number of challenges, including a man named Grant (guest star Paul Popowich).

In February of 2015, Good Witch became a weekly series, which included what became the franchise’s annual Halloween specials:

Good Witch Halloween (2015) at 8 PM

With Halloween fast approaching, Cassie and the town of Middleton are hard at work preparing for the annual Harvest Festival. This year, Cassie is transforming Grey House into a delightful, haunted house.

NOTE: The series introduced new neighbors to Grey House Sam and Nick Radford (James Denton and Rhys Matthew Bond) [Chris Potter could not be part of the weekly TV show’s cast because of his role in the Canadian series Heartland so his character was written out of the show, being killed in the line of duty]. The show also introduced a teen-aged Grace (Cassie and Jake’s daughter) [played by Bailee Madison] as well as Dan Jeannotte, who took over the role of Brandon and Rebecca Dalton, who took over the role of Tara.

Good Witch: Secrets of Grey House (2016) at 10 PM

Cassie welcomes Jessica Carrington (Rebecca Marshall), a popular author, to Grey House. Before long, Cassie inspires her to hold the launch party for her latest book in Middleton, which shares mysterious similarities with her stories.

Now, let’s shift to the remainder of the movies that will air in the early hours of Sunday, May 3:

Good Witch: Spellbound (2017) at 12 Midnight

A long-forgotten prophecy is unearthed in the basement of city hall and – when the things that were predicted to happen actually start to come true – people begin to fear that this might be the year of a curse.

Good Witch: Tale of Two Hearts (2018) at 2 AM

Cassie’s precious family heirloom, a beautiful red ruby, goes missing from the History of Halloween in Middleton museum exhibit just in time for the anniversary festival.

Good Witch: Curse From a Rose (2019) at 4 AM

Cassie meets her match when her long-lost college roommate, Autumn Delaney (guest star Lolita Davidovich), makes an unexpected visit to Grey House on a mission to disrupt Middleton’s Halloween festivities.

Get your DVR’s set, Good Witch fans, and enjoy the movie marathon.
