Comic-Con 2019: Veronica Mars Panel
Marshmallows! Did you hear the good news? Hulu is releasing all episodes of Veronica Mars season 4 a week early – that’s right – they are available now to stream! We heard the announcement first hand at the Veronica Mars panel at San Diego Comic-Con where the Nice Girls descended en masse. Believe me – when we heard Veronica Mars was going to be at Comic-Con we all cleared our schedules and made sure to be in the room. We did not want to miss a thing!

The audience was treated to a screening of the first episode from season 4, then the cast and creative team took the stage to answer questions. Executive Producers Rob Thomas and Diana Ruggiero-Wright were joined by Kristen Bell, Jason Dohring, Enrico Colantoni, Percy Daggs III, Francis Capra, Ryan Hanson, and Kirby Howell-Baptiste.
Because the audience was treated to a screening of the first episode, the panel itself was short and sweet. Rob and Kristen talked about how being parents of their respective daughters influenced the making of season 4 and, after announcing that all eight episodes are now on Hulu, Kristen told the cheering crowd, “I will play Veronica until everyone in Neptune is dead.” So…season 5?

From Lisa: The first episode of Veronica Mars was everything I wanted and more! We get to see some of our favorite characters, as well as a new kick-ass female character! Veronica and her relationship with her dad and their quick wit are better than ever and I love that she is grown up. The show is more adult and it’s Veronica Mars and it’s great. Fans of the show are going to love this! During the panel, Kristen discussed how she had reservations bringing Veronica back because of the grueling schedule and she didn’t want to miss six months with her kids. But she thought about it and realized having Veronica out there for girls to look up to was very important. She referred to Veronica as a superhero without a cape. Kristen says she will play Veronica Mars until everyone in Neptune dies. She was also asked the age-old question F-ck, Marry, Kill – her choices being Leo, Duncan, and Piz. She opted to kill poor Duncan, marry Piz, and f-ck Leo. I can’t say we disagree with her!
From Roz: I decided to feel like it was 2006, my first Comic-Con, by spending the day celebrating Veronica Mars. The first episode of this new season is amazing (and I’m sad I can’t finish watching it right now), and then I went to do something slightly off the beaten path and wait outside the stage door at Conan for the cast. Well, after four hours, it was worth it because I have new memories (and awkward selfies!) with some of the cast.

And now enjoy this gallery of photos Roz took during the panel which clearly shows that no one on the cast likes each other one bit.
