AGENTS OF SHIELD Roundtable: “Collision Course (Part 1)”

By  |

The next new episode of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD aired on Friday night with this rather strange synopsis:

To face The Galaxy-Hopping Hate-Beast That Eats Planets, the team on Earth asks for help in all the wrong places. While back on the Lazy Comet, something weird is going on with Izel’s crew, and it’s not just the puffies.

Join NiceGirls Rueben, Christie and Roz as we discuss the episode, using our ratings system known as SASSY – S(tupid), A(wesome), S(o) S(o) and Y(Your Thoughts):

STUPID

Roz: Why can’t everyone actually talk about what their plans are and what they want to do. I’m sure that FitzSimmons wouldn’t have helped Izel if they knew that she’s part of the bigger problem that the team has been facing.

Rueben: Yeah, everyone is being cagey – just like Fitz said to Simmons although the one omission that was good was Simmons not letting Fitz tell Izel about the monoliths. The rest was pretty damn annoying.

Christie: I agree with the ladies above. No one has any right to trust anyone else. BUT, our heroes are weirdly distrustful and then… not.

AWESOME

Roz: It’s so small but I’m glad that FitzSimmons realized something was up when none of the crew were acting right on their ship.

Rueben: For me it was some of the dialogue. Daisy saying “I need bleach for my eyes” after she and May caught Deke with Snowflake; Sarge calling May “Smiles” (really?!); YoYo joking with Mack about calling someone else “the big guy” and how that is how all of them feel when talking to him.

Christie: There’s not a lot here that’s awesome for me, especially since apparently the solution to the apocalypse is blowing up part of the world AGAIN.

SO SO

Roz: This plan to get the monoliths by Izel seems odd and not well thought out. Clearly people are stopping her from getting them but she’s still at it.

Rueben: Fitz and Simmons not getting a bit more suspicious when that one guy acted so strange. C’mon, you guys are smarter than that.

Christie: The whole storyline just feels uneven to me, and I honestly don’t see how they get out of this problem without something nuts happening.

YOUR THOUGHTS

Roz: I’m worried about what the battle being at this point in the season means after next week! Are we going to get an answer and have to deal with a dead planet? That seems extreme but I don’t know how they stop Izel and her crew from doing what they’ve been doing.

Rueben: Yep, I agree. This battle is not going to end well. And there is something way more sinister to Sarge than they are letting on. I want some answers and for the characters to be smarter. And just to be clear none of us trust Izel’s story right. Everyone was being cagey – her most of all.

Christie: Agreed to all of the above. And just when we think we understand Sarge, it turns out he may have known all along about his likeness to Coulson? So now I’m thinking this is a private war between Celestials/Titans or the like? I need to look up some Marvel stuff I don’t know much about.
