Salute to Rising Stars

By  |

It’s that time again to salute those actresses who are on the move, actresses who deserve a little extra attention for their latest work, those actresses who are rising stars. Landing that crucial role in a TV movie or guest appearance in a successful show or film makes all the difference for aspiring actors.

Let’s take a look at the next two actresses who viewers should keep their eye on:

Violett Beane

Violett is a twentysomething actress who was born in St. Petersburg, Florida, but grew up in Austin, Texas [which she still calls home]. It was in Austin that she fell in love with performing, taking to theatre all throughout middle and high school. It was not until her senior year of high school, though, that she turned her focus towards pursuing acting professionally.

Her big break came in 2015 when she landed a role on The Leftovers which she followed up with a recurring role on The Flash as Jesse Wells – aka Jesse Quick. She also had guest appearances in episodes of Chicago P.D. and The Resident as well as movie roles in the 2016 thriller Slash, the 2017 thriller Flay and the 2018 thriller Truth or Dare.

But it is her latest role as Cara Bloom on the new CBS drama God Friended Me that has garnered her a lot of attention.

Tati Gabrielle

Tati is also a twentysomething actress, who is from San Francisco. At the tender age of 5, she began modeling for Macy’s and Nordstrom and by 3rd grade she was starring in her first show: Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events.

While in middle school, Tati auditioned for a prominent performing arts school and was accepted into their theatre program. In late 2015, Tati moved to Los Angeles and landed roles in a couple of short films going by her birth name of Tatiana Hobson. She later appeared in the TV series K.C. Undercover in 2016 before landing an important recurring role in The CW series The 100.

She provided her voice in the 2017 animated movie The Emoji Movie and had a recurring role in the Netflix thriller Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
