My Top Choices for March TV

By  |

It’s hard to believe that March is nearly here, right?

The TV landscape coming up next month on cable, network and streaming is plentiful with returning dramas, new shows debuting, some finales airing and more made-for-TV movies premiering.

From that long list of options, I have selected my top choices for March TV.

SEASON PREMIERES

The 9th season of the long-running Hallmark Channel family drama When Calls the Heart will be back with new episodes starting on March 6 at 8 PM.

As a massive fan of Outlander, I’m VERY excited for the 6th season to finally get underway on Starz on March 6 at 9 PM.

After the brutal news that Sanditon was not going to return after its first season, fans banded together and thankfully the powers-that-be renewed the drama, and it will be back on PBS on March 20 at 9 PM.

Bridgerton took the world by storm at the end of 2020 and now the second season is set to do the same thing starting on March 25 on Netflix.

And, the second season of the Amazon comedy-drama Upload will premiere on March 11.

NOTE: I had the opportunity to watch screeners of the second season of Upload, and I highly recommend watching it.

COMING TO AN END (FOR NOW)

The Syfy series Resident Alien will air its mid-season finale on March 16 at 9 PM; and, the period piece The Gilded Age will air its season finale on HBO at 9 PM.

NEW KID ON THE BLOCK

Another Disney+ series is joining the fold. This time it’s Moon Knight debuting on March 30. The series follows Steven Grant (Oscar Isaac), a mild-mannered gift-shop employee, who becomes plagued with blackouts and memories of another life. Steven discovers he has dissociative identity disorder and shares a body with mercenary Marc Spector. As Steven/Marc’s enemies converge upon them, they must navigate their complex identities while thrust into a deadly mystery among the powerful gods of Egypt. The series also stars Ethan Hawke and the late Gaspard Ulliel.

MOVIES, MOVIES, MOVIES

Every month there are plenty of movies set to debut on the same screen. These are just a few of the family friendly made-for-TV movies that will be airing in March:

A Bridesmaid in Love on UPtv at 7 PM on March 6, starring NCIS: Hawai’i cast member Tori Anderson.

Feeling Butterflies on the Hallmark Channel on March 12 at 8 PM, starring When Calls the Heart cast members (and real-life couple) Kayla Wallace and Kevin McGarry.

A Second Chance at Love, also on the Hallmark Channel, on March 26 at 8 PM, starring ER alums Gloria Reuben and Eriq LaSalle as well as The 100 cast member Jarod Joseph and Alvina August (Chilling Adventures of Sabria, Nancy Drew and Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist).

And, then for those who want a little more sci-fi in their viewing, there is The Adam Project, which is set to debut on Netflix on March 11. Ryan Reynolds plays a time-traveling pilot, who teams up with his younger self (Walker Scobell) and his late father (Mark Ruffalo) to come to terms with his past while saving the future. The cast includes Jennifer Garner, Catherine Keener, Alex Mallari Jr. and Zoe Saldana.
