STUMPTOWN Roundtable: Dirty Dexy Money

By  |

Stumptown fans! Join Nice Girls Leah, Lisa and Roz while we discuss this episode of Stumptown –  “Dirty Dexy Money” which focused on the following:

Dex becomes fast friends with a new client, the owner of a male strip club who has been mysteriously losing money, but Dex soon learns not everything is as it seems. Elsewhere, Grey continues to help Hoffman and his new partner on the car-jacking case while going deeper undercover.

The Good
Lisa: Wooo! Anyone else ready to take a trip to Hold The Meat? lol It was fun having a little Magic Mike

action in this episode. Also, anytime Cheryl Hines guest stars on a show I am a happy woman. It was so funny when she told Dex “Make memories not babies” right before she encouraged Dex to sleep with a dancer (which Dex turned down surprisingly).

Roz: I’m all for Cheryl Hines’ energy in the episode plus Dex taking a note on how to deal with her case using her military skills.

Leah: Cheryl Hines! Love her. Also love some more info on Ansel and Dex’s parents. I did not realize Tookie and Dex went back that far. The Baked Alaska prepped with Tookie and Ansel was hilarious.

The Bad
Lisa: That dirty cop! Hoffman redeemed himself a little in this episode and his instincts are on point. However, I still worry that this undercover mission is getting to Grey and he is getting to deep.

Roz: Going in as the buyer for Grey’s team seems so stupidly wrong and it hasn’t even happened yet.

Leah: I like that Hoffman wasn’t the worst cop this episode, but I’m still not thrilled with this undercover op at all! Thank you Roz! She hardly looks like a drug dealer/buyer, etc….

Final Thoughts
Lisa: I look forward to the awkwardness of Dex joining the undercover job with Hoffman and Grey. That is going to be very interesting. I also want to see more Ansel! I missed him in this episode. It will be nice to see him explore his independence and Dex continuing to deal with being alone.

Roz: Why do I have a sense of impending doom (the same kind I have while watching Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) about this next episode?

Leah: I’d like to get back to either Hoffman or Grey and Dex in some sort of relationship or friendship or something. I know we want her to be able to be on her own, but also – it’s boring when they are all scattered.
