Salute to Rising Stars

It’s that time again to salute those actresses who are on the move, actresses who deserve a little extra attention for their latest work, those actresses who are rising stars. Landing that crucial role in a TV movie or guest appearance in a successful show or film makes all the difference for aspiring actors.

Let’s take a look at the next two actresses who viewers should keep their eye on:

Emma Greenwell

Emma is an American-British actress, who attended the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts for one but she decided to try her luck at pilot season in LA. Her first job was on the Emmy-winning Showtime drama Shameless. She followed that up with roles in True Blood and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. She also appear in the Hulu streaming series The Path.

Her film roles include Pride and Prejudice and Zombies as well as Love & Friendship.

She can currently be seen as Myfanwy Thomas in the new Starz drama The Rook that debuted on Sunday, June 30. The next new episode of The Rook will air on July 14.

Denyse Tontz

Denise is an American actress, singer and songwriter who hails from San Diego, California. Her first job was in the short-lived series E-Ring. Then she followed that up with guest appearances in The Nine Lives of Chloe King and I Hate My Teenage Daughter.

She then had recurring roles in Big Time Rush and All My Children as well guest appearances in Dog with a Blog, the reboot of Dallas, Melissa & Joey, Bones and The Night Shift. Over the last few seasons, she has appeared in the short-lived Syfy series Incorporated and had a recurring role in The Fosters.

She currently stars as Alicia Mendoza on the ABC telenovela Grand Hotel that debuted on June 16.

Denyse began writing songs when she was 11 and released the video for her first single “Better Than Nothing” in 2012. Her songs have been featured in The Mentalist and All My Children.
