AGENTS OF SHIELD Roundtable: “The Other Thing”

By  |

Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD took a hiatus, but it’s back Friday night. Here’s the synopsis:

Sarge has May; Altarah has Daisy, Enoch and Simmons; and now, there are two planets that need saving.

Will we FINALLY get answers to the big questions about this season?

Join NiceGirls Rueben, Christie and Roz as we discuss the episode, using our ratings system known as SASSY – S(tupid), A(wesome), S(o) S(o) and Y(Your Thoughts):

STUPID

Roz: I’m so confused by the other folks from Enoch’s planet and their desire to rescue their planet after that point. Time travel is not an easy thing to do and I have limited doubts that the power of FitzSimmons can get them back and save their planet in the end.

Rueben: I have to agree. Messing with time is very tricky, and how can they be sure that going back is really going to fix anything or just make it even worse.

Christie: Mostly I’m surprised at the denseness and limited knowledge of Enoch and his people. He seemed to know so much last season. What happened?

Oh and Yo-yo’s treatment of Mack was completely unfair. On the other hand, Mack complaining about his needs when Yo-yo just lost Keller is a bit… I dunno… self-absorbed?

AWESOME

Roz: May vs Sarge! May vs Sarge! All of those conversations mean something but what I don’t know yet.

Rueben: That fight scene in the cab of the truck was pretty great. And the moments between Coulson and May were a bit hearthbreaking. I loved the brief look of happiness on Fitz’s and Simmons’s faces when they saw each other only to have that dashed because it was nothing more than a hologram image.

Christie: “Coulson” and May were definitely the highlight of the episode. Also, the end. Mack almost got choked up seeing Daisy. Awww!

Roz: We’ve gone back to the monoliths? I forgot about them and now we’re going back to those from the beginning of the series. This is one long-game that I hope pays off because we’re still sort of meandering through the big bad with those aliens that Sarge is after.

Rueben: Yeah, I was a bit taken back that they were going back to the monoliths, as I thought for sure we were done with them too. Guess not, huh?

Christie: Ugh. Agreed. Just why?

YOUR THOUGHTS

Roz: Well we finally know about the bigger bad issue of the season, but we’re half way through and that worries me on how we’re going to get a solution in time.

Rueben: If this winged creatures have a master, who is that master and how much worse is he/she/it? I don’t know if I want to know. I just want Fitz and Simmons back together, which we’ll get if the clips for next week are any indication. And, what do you think Daisy is going to do once she finds out about Sarge? Oh, and what the hell did Enoch do to Fitz in that coda scene?

Christie: This was definitely a better episode. I can’t say that’s a great thing, because like Roz says, we’re halfway through.

Now that we know more about Yo-yo’s relationship, what do you think of what she had to say at WonderCon?

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will be back next week at 8/7c on ABC, with a new episode.
