THE ROOKIE Roundtable: Time of Death

By  |

Nolan has to tackle the dreaded celebrity Ride Along on this week’sThe Rookie, while Chen has to deal with Bradford’s emotional turmoil.

Let’s dig into the last two episodes with our new feature: S(tupid), A(wesome), S(o) S(o) and Y(our Thoughts):

STUPID

Roz: Nolan and Chen again? I’m not sure that sleeping together after that shooting is healthy or smart, but it’s going to really complicate so many other issues if Nolan was shot by the other robber? (Side note, how did that robber find Nolan’s address?)

Rueben: Honestly, the detectives thought that Isabel was ready to do that undercover sting? Sure, she agreed to be a CI, but given the obvious withdrawal that she was going through, she was not prepared to go in like she did, and given what happened – that it seems like she got caught by that drug dealer – this “sting” was a big failure.

Leah: I do not care at all about Nolan and Chen, they aren’t a couple I will be shipping so them together is not for me. My main issues is ISABEL AS A CI! What? No. What? No. What? How is that a good idea at all? I mean clearly it wasn’t….

AWESOME

Roz: I’m so impressed by that little moment between West and his dad about the whole family dynamic. Is Mrs. West not happy about her son joining the LAPD like his dad? Show me more of that, please!

Rueben: Finally a full episode that I actually liked rather than just liking a small section of scenes from episodes. This is what the show should have been like all season. Getting to see how Nolan was reacting to all that took place after the shooting made it even more engrossing to watch – for once.

Leah: I love seeing the family so The West’s was a good part for me, but I have to agree with Rueben as well, this was a really well put together episode that I mostly liked.

SO SO

Roz: Bishop getting the Tap is going to cause way more problems than I think anyone wants, but it gives the show room to introduce a new TO for Nolan should he survive.

Rueben: Is Lopez really all right with Bishop getting the tap for detective? I have to wonder if she really is? And, haven’t Nolan and Lucy learned that being together is not a good idea? The clips for the next new episode make it clear that their little affair is probably going to go public.

Leah: Someone had to make Detective, but I find I don’t really care who it was. So meh for me on that storyline.

YOUR THOUGHTS

Roz: How long are we going to wait to find out about all these threads? There are so many open issues at the end that they shouldn’t all be addressed in the winter premiere.

Rueben: I’d really like to learn more about what happened Captain Anderson when she told Nolan that she knows what he is going through? I think I finally like Sergeant Grey, too, because of actually being on Nolan’s side for once. Given what happened to Isabel, I’m actually concerned about her, and curious what Bradford is going to try to do to save her.
