It’s A Different World Reunion in Lifetime’s ‘The Christmas Pact’

Can best friends fall in love? That’s the question next door neighbors Sadie (Kyla Pratt) and Ben (Jarod Joseph) will answer in Lifetime’s The Christmas Pact.

Ben and Sadie have been best friends since they were kids. When they were eight years old, they planted a small Christmas tree behind their church. They made a pact that they would meet at the tree every year for Christmas to share their Christmas wishes and no matter what, they would not let anyone come between them and their pact. We watch them grow and conquer life hurdles that threaten to break their pact. Ben has feelings for Sadie but didn’t want to lose their friendship, so he questioned whether to reveal his true feelings. With each Christmas that passes by, Ben and Sadie’s Christmas tree grows taller and stronger, and so does their bond. It brings up the question, can you fall in love with your best friend?

I really enjoyed this film. It explored friendship, family, traditions, and love. All the ingredients for a cheerful holiday film. But for me, the best part was Sadie’s parents, played by Jasmine Guy and Kadeem Hardison. They gave me all the feels! Seeing Whitley and Dwayne from A Different World reunite for this holiday gem was icing on the cake. Their chemistry was just as strong as it was nearly 30 years ago and I couldn’t get enough of them! I wanted more of their storyline and history in the film. What a great throwback to a beloved couple to get your holiday cheer ignited.

The Christmas Pact will re-air on Lifetime Thursday, December 13 at 8/7c and Friday December 14 at 12:01am EST.
