THE GOOD PLACE Roundtable: Don’t Let the Good Life Pass You By

By  |

This week on The Good Place, Michael and Janet take an important journey. Eleanor ponders whether she should share a secret.

Our SASSY (S)Stupid (A)Awesome (S) So-So (Y) Your Thoughts are below:

Stupid:

Roz: I wish I could like Michael’s awkward thing with names, but it’s a joke that was dead weeks ago.

Cara:  Michael’s running name issues were funny at first, but nothing’s ever gonna beat Zack Pizzazz. I love the way this show embraces puns and clever naming, but this just doesn’t work for me.

Cay: Yeah, “The Scoops” were embarassingly awkward. The lentils were funny, but I don’t get the radishes, but maybe that’s the point

Awesome:

Roz: JANET!!!!

Cay:  The fight was fun, but I got a kick out of the stereotype that was Doug Forcett and that he wasn’t just a one-time gag. I love how this show so often follows through with stuff like that instead of making it just a quick throwaway.

Cara: Janet fighting the demons. No contest.

So-So:

Roz: Doug’s actual plan to get enough points for the Good Place is really boring, and makes him a walking target for annoying people around him.

Cay: The part with Doug and the nasty punk kid was annoying.

Cara:I enjoyed Chidi embracing Jacksonville pool rules. It’s just so contrary to the anxiety we typically see in Chidi, and I enjoyed him just having pure, idiotic fun. It wasn’t amazing, but it was an entertaining aside.

Your Thoughts/Favorite Quote:

Roz: I need to know what comes now that Shawn’s been captured.

Cara: “I remember the term happiness pump, but mostly because Eleanor and Jason made a bunch of dirty jokes about it.” I loved that line because I could absolutely envision that moment and how hilarious it would be.

Cay: Love that the Canadian bar was called The Puking Moose! We didn’t have long enough to see how Chidi processes what Eleanor told him – that should be interesting!
