THE GIFTED Roundtable: afterMath

By  |

Here’s the official synopsis for this week’s The Gifted afterMath:

Caitlin and Thunderbird learn clues about the identity of a powerful mutant while they attempt to save an injured mutant’s life; Jace nearly gets in the way of the Mutant Underground shortly after he joins the Purifiers to hunt escaped mutants.

Join the NiceGirls as they talk about the latest episode using our new SASSY format S(tupid), A(wesome), S(o) S(o) and Y(our Thoughts):

STUPID

Roz: Jace working with the Purifiers is like Dumb and Dumbest! I get that he needs a place to belong, but that’s such the worst choice. Normally they’re the worst of the worst when it comes to mutant issues, and clearly that’s going to happen here.

Cay:  Caitlin being upset at John for not bringing Andy back with them. She clearly doesn’t understand what’s going on here – they barely got out with everyone and it’s not like Andy was there waiting to be rescued! At least she apologized.

I’m so done with Jace’s story! And with recent events in the world, I have little interest in watching a hate group on TV.

Rueben: I agree with Cay, I’m so done with Jace!! And Peter Gallagher as that outspoken TV reporter who is against the mutants, pulease!! This is ringing too close to current events.

AWESOME

Roz: The Morlocks continue to rock a good view of powers for mutants and safety. Are they the only good place to be now?

Rueben: Rebecca’s power is pretty cool but that’s about all I “liked” in the episode.

Cay: I don’t think that awesome is the right term, but Reeva’s endgame is getting a bit clearer and more interesting. Rebecca and Andy seem like a dangerous combo. Teenage angst and that much power seems like trouble!

SO SO

Roz: Whatever is going on with Reeva and her plan. I get that we need powerful mutants, but she’s not clear about everything which makes it hard for me to care about her plan. Tell me more and maybe it’ll grab me.

Cay: Not loving the literal underground plotline. Branding, really? So not into torture, whether someone agrees to it or not.

Rueben: Yeah, the underground story isn’t working for me either. I don’t really care about them, I don’t like the branding either and can’t see how bringing them into the story is going to help since they don’t care about the Mutant Underground.

YOUR THOUGHTS

Roz: Don’t use Peter Gallagher like that and expect me to like it! Sandy Cohen would not be about mutant oppression!

Cay: The Andy and Rebecca development is interesting, but I’m growing bored with the rest recently. I hate Jace getting involved with the Purifiers – the show is getting a little too real life and I watch TV for escapism.

Rueben: I’m getting more and more disappointed with the show. I want to see them work as a team to make a difference and take down the Inner Circle rather than hiding.

Cay's family thinks her obsession with pop culture is "not normal". Normal is boring!
