Good Witch Recap: “Family Time”

By  |

In last night’s new episode of the Hallmark Channel drama Good Witch, Cassie and the family got out of town for a well-deserved break and other family members took over the running of her businesses.

The tagline for the episode entitled “Family Time” is as follows:

“Cassie, Sam, Nick and Grace spend a night away at the family lake house; hoping to bring everyone together, Cassie faces a few obstacles before everyone starts acting like a family again.”

The Lake House

The soon-to-be new family – Cassie and Grace blended with Sam and Nick – decided to make a visit to the lake house that Sam purchased last season for a weekend away…with the parents hoping to get some quality family time not to mention seeing if Grace and Nick could bring their ongoing feud to an end.

While the lake house seemed perfect with all the new renovations for which Sam recently had done to the place, the WiFi wasn’t working and the new stove wasn’t hooked up properly, making things a bit difficult for Nick and Grace to deal with (imagine teenagers without access to their cell phones!) let alone being able to even cook a decent meal.

Soon enough, Nick was hanging out with the pretty teenage girl from next door, who he quickly learned had a boyfriend; a jerk who left Nick stranded at Turtle Point – a popular hangout for kids that was actually marked as restricted territory; Nick was the reason for Grace losing her cell phone to the depths of the lake and Sam getting called away by the neighbors due to an unfortunate accident.

The “family” finally got some quality time together, though, over the outdoor campfire, eating hot dogs just before they left to head back to Middleton. And, given the fact that Grace “rescued” Nick from Turtle Point, it seemed that their feud just MIGHT be coming to an end.

Bell, Book & Candle

While Cassie was away, Tara took over the running of Bell, Book & Candle – and after what seemed like a long absence – viewers finally got to see her husband, and Cassie’s stepson, Brandon again. The duo had a very busy day with lots of customers, including Mayor Martha Tinsdale, who Brandon was able to “magically” help much the same way as Cassie usually does.

They were also able to sell a mysterious box at Cassie’s shop that no one could seem to figure out its actual purpose until one of Grey House’s latest guests stopped by for a late visit.

Grey House

Cassie’s cousin Abigail took over the running of Grey House while the family was at the Lake House, but while she has her own magical “powers,” Abigail eventually learned that she should follow Cassie’s instructions – specifically leaving the guests in the rooms for which they were “assigned.” Grey House may be known to be either haunted or magical, but in this episode it seemed that Cassie’s mere presence fixed all that went wrong while Abigail was in charge.

Did you watch Sunday night’s episode? What did you think of Abigail and Tara being in charge? Were you happy to see Brandon again? Do you think that Grace and Nick have finally forgiven each other? Please share your thoughts below.

The next new episode of Good Witch will air on Hallmark Channel on Sunday, May, 27 at 9/8c.
