So many new shows this season! Not only that but a few time travel shows as well. One of the better ones, in my opinion, is Timeless. That has nothing to do with how excited I am to have Matt Lanter back on TV on a weekly basis. Well maybe a little to do with it.
The premise of the show is Garcia played by Goran Visnijic (Extant) has stolen a fancy time machine. One the government didn’t know about until the company had to tell them about the theft. The government calls in a historian Lucy played by Abigail Spender (Rectify) and a soldier Wyatt played by Matt Lanter (90210). They team up with Rufus played by Malcolm Barrett (Better Off Ted). He is a scientist who worked on the project.
Hopping into an older version of the time machine that was stolen Team Repair Time goes after Garcia to try to stop him before he can make any irreparable changes. And there are changes. Something I loved about Timeless was the show puts real consequences to the actions brought on by time travel. Some of them were truly heartbreaking while others made for a better version of our current time.
If that wasn’t enough the pilot introduced some mythology that will require fleshing out and I am excited about that.
