Why We Love The Women Of Empire

The women of Empire rule prime time TV and I am so excited the ladies are returning tonight! These women are strong, smart, beautiful, independent, fashionable, sassy and fun! The music is the heart of the show but it would be nothing without these ladies!

I have to start out with the infamous Cookie Lyon, played by the fabulous Taraji P. Henson. She is a strong mother who takes no mess from anyone and looks amazing doing it. Her wardrobe is always a trending topic! She is about her business and won’t let anyone get in the way of what she wants. You don’t want to mess with Cookie! She is the Queen of Empire and one of the best female characters on television (and definitely one of the most quotable).

Becky Williams played by the super talented Gabourey Sidibe is Lucious’ trustworthy right hand. Working as Lucious’ Executive Assistant can’t be easy but Becky takes it all in a stride. She is witty, smart and fashionable! She is proof that women of all shapes and sizes can be super fabulous! I love her!

The beautiful Grace Gealey plays Anika, better known as Boo Boo Kitty. Anika is the woman who goes after what she wants and doesn’t let anyone stop her. She is willing to do whatever it takes to get what she wants. She’s the type is woman you don’t want around your mate because she can’t be trusted. She’s Luscious ex-girlfriend who is now after his son Hakeem so she definitely brings the drama!

Rhonda Lyon played by the gorgeous Kaitlin Doubleday is the loving wife on the show. She is married to Andre and is expecting their 1st child (her character had a huge cliffhanger and her fate is in question so let’s hope everything is ok). She would do anything for her husband. Don’t let her sweet face fool you; she isn’t afraid to get her hands dirty when it comes to protecting her family.

Tiana played by the super talented Serayah is a sexy up and coming singer who kills it on Empire. She is signed to Empire Records and is a fan favorite (Drip Drop was an instant hit). She is a smart girl who doesn’t let the music industry change her, and stands up for what she deserves. I think we will see more of her this season and I can’t wait.

One thing all of the women of Empire have in common is that they are all fashionable. They always look great!
