THE GOOD WITCH’S WONDER: A Magical Story About Love, Forgiveness and Renewal

By  |

Updated 10.28.14: Several people commented and emailed asking for information about the songs used at the end of the movie. Thanks to the good folks at The Hallmark Channel, we can tell you that they’re both by Toronto Rockabilly band The Millwinders. The song that plays during the wedding is titled “Ain’t No Laughing Matter,” then “In Time She Will” plays at the very end of the movie. At this time it appears the only way to get their music is to buy directly from their website. Happy listening!

On Saturday, October 25 actress Catherine Bell returns for the 7th film in the popular Hallmark Channel The Good Witch movie franchise, reprising her role as Cassie Nightingale, a “witch” who lives in idealistic Middleton with her husband, town Sheriff Jack Russell (Chris Potter) and their young daughter Grace (Lily-Fay Mowbray).

In the latest installment, The Good Witch’s Wonder, Middleton is now under the mayorship of Martha Tinsdale (Catherine Disher) – one time rival of Cassie, but now one of her dearest friends. And new resident Audrey (Rachel Wilson) has wandered into Cassie’s shop Bell, Book & Candle. But there is something questionable about Audrey: is she in trouble with someone or is she in that quaint town for a more nefarious reason?

Meanwhile, Cassie’s step-daughter Lori (Hannah Endicott-Douglas), now a sophomore in college, landed her first article in the college newspaper and is preparing – along with the rest of her family, including grandfather George (Peter MacNeill) – for the wedding of her brother Brandon (Matthew Knight) to Tara (Ashley Leggat).

But first, the town is preparing for a massive fundraiser to fund Martha’s new pet-project, the Middleton Botanical Gardens, which is massively over budget. Cassie is, of course, enlisted to help and Audrey – as a new employee at Cassie’s shop – volunteers to help. Enter Grant Dressel (Paul Popowich), a new visitor to Middleton, claiming he is in town to help with the fundraiser as a marketer; but is he there for some other reason?

Due to a job offer received by Brandon, he and Tara decide to move up their wedding, but when the latter decides she wants some of the wedding traditions she envisioned for her big day, the couple begin to question if they are meant to be together.

In true The Good Witch tradition, while circumstances are seemingly out of control, Cassie’s “magical touch” affects her family, friends and new acquaintances in just the right way.

But, there won’t be any spoilers here, rather an invitation to step inside Middleton for a few hours on October 25 at 9/8c when The Good Witch’s Wonder debuts on The Hallmark Channel.

The cast of this installment also includes Noah Cappe, reprising his role as Deputy Derek Sanders; Connor Price (Being Human) as Jim, Lori’s college RA and newspaper editor; and Paula Brancati (Being Erica) as Ms. Bryson, Grace’s school teacher.

Plus if you don’t already know,  The Good Witch launches as a weekly series on the network in February 2015 with Bailee Madison of Once Upon a Time fame and James Denton of  fame joining the cast.
