Life in New Mexico is anything other than simple, and in the wake of last week’s death, what else will go wrong as the men all try to perfect their projects?

Synopsis

“The Hive” – As the news of Sid’s death reverberates through the compound, the base begins cracking down on security on The Hill, which creates new complications for the scientists’ work. With all files and case studies on lockdown, Frank’s team is locked in an uphill battle to resolve the Implosion experiment without Sid’s expertise, leading Frank to resort to creative measures. Meanwhile, Charlie grapples with unsettling feelings about his group and Abby starts a new chapter. Elsewhere, an MP looks for penance for his actions.

“Manhattan” stars Rachel Brosnahan as Abby Isaacs, Michael Chernus as Louis “Fritz” Fedowitz, Christopher Denham as Jim Meeks, Alexia Fast as Callie Winter, Katja Herbers as Helen Prins, John Benjamin Hickey as Frank Winter, Harry Lloyd as Paul Crosley, Eddie Shin as Sid Liao, Daniel Stern as Glen Babbit, Olivia Williams as Liza Winter and Ashley Zukerman as Charlie Isaacs.

Guest starring are Jefferson White as Cole “Iowa” Dunlavey, Carole Weyers as Elodie, Josh Cooke (“Hart of Dixie”) as Lancefield, Christina Kirk as Rose Akley, Beth Bailey as Fay, Catherine Haun as Dot, Stafford Douglas as Thatcher and Travis Hammer as O’Byrne.

Created and written by Sam Shaw (“Masters of Sex”) and directed by Emmy Award-winning director Thomas Schlamme (“The West Wing”), “Manhattan” is executive produced by Sam Shaw, Thomas Schlamme, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, Marcy Ross and Dustin Thomason. Filmed on location in New Mexico, the series is produced by Lionsgate Television, Skydance Television and Tribune Studios.

“The Hive” was written by Nathaniel Halpern and Lisa Melamed and directed by Chris Misiano.

Set against the backdrop of the greatest race against time in the history of science — the mission to build the world’s first atomic bomb — “Manhattan” follows the brilliant but flawed scientists and their families in Los Alamos as they attempt to coexist in a world where secrets and lies infiltrate every aspect of their lives.

“Manhattan” carries a TV-14 rating. This all-new episode of “Manhattan” airs SUNDAY, AUGUST 10 (10:00 P.M. ET/ 9:00 P.M. CT) on WGN America.
