14_DOM-58Let me briefly comment; I love you Roxanne for complimenting the accent I was ashamed of for so many years.
Those few words blessed me immensely and I am grateful for your kindness! You totally made my week!

Upon speaking with the cast I was struck by how much each member loved their respective characters. Roxanne was no exception and was very passionate about her role as Claire. The General’s Daughter goes through an amazing transformation this season which requires some serious talent. Roxanne was simply brilliant in episode six, ‘Black Eyes Blue.’

You get the very real sense that Dominion is a labor of love. When you love what you do and who you work with, magic happens. I believe that is what is going on with Dominion from the original concept, to clever writers, incredible Special Effects Team and passionate actors. It creates a recipe for success. I for one am fully convinced Dominion will get a second season.

McKee was quick to speak of her admiration of Claire.I love playing the role of Claire, because for me she is such a diverse character, she’s so multifaceted. And, I feel that she’s the only character in the show that goes on this huge sort of coming of age journey and we get to see her most vulnerable moments and in her strongest moments as well.”

“In actual fact what’s interesting about her is we get to see the flaws in human beings. She is innocent and she does want the greater good, but she’s a human being and she’s flawed. And so when she realizes that power is starting to leave her household. She goes out of her way to make sure she can hang onto it and she believes that she is doing the right thing. But is she? Is manipulating the right thing? Should she have gone to New Delphi and followed her heart.? I don’t know. “

“I love Claire because I think that she’s this really strong spirited young woman who is not afraid to cry. She’s not afraid to be vulnerable. She says what she is thinking. She wears her heart on her sleeve, but equally she’s tough enough not not sit and weep in the corner.”

“She’s decided I think the right thing to do is to stay and help my people so therefore I’m going to give up love. And I’m going to kill if killing is necessary. ….even though that is going to break my heart to do it. That’s the right thing to do. So I think she has a strong moral code and I think that’s a very valuable characteristic to have.”

DOM_defenderRegarding Strong Female Roles Roxanne had a very clever and beautiful opinion.Well you see for me, you know what’s interesting? People talk about these roles of women being strong or not strong and I think I’m just playing people. I think the show has different strong women and everyone is strong in different ways. Arika uses her sexuality. Noma is a tough soldier…..Claire uses her mind.”
On how far will Claire goes to the dark side, Mckee leaves us with an interesting morsel of knowledge. “I think she might go quite far.” And that my friends, makes for an amazing character male of female.
