Kim Moses

Today’s Women Behind the Scenes spotlight is shone on writer, director and executive producer Kim Moses who is a principal in Sander/Moses Productions alongside her husband Ian Sander.

Kim has both developed and served as an executive producer on over 300 hours of primetime TV programming, getting her start in television at Ohlmeyer Productions where she developed reality-based programs, game shows and rock & roll and sports programs, specializing in live broadcasts. She also worked on Capitol Hill on the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Science and Technology.

Some of Kim’s earliest TV credits include the reality programs How’d They Do That!, Comic Strip Live Primetime, My World On Video, The Extreme Edge, Power Boat Racing with Don Johnson.

She has also served as a producer on the MTV Video Music Awards, the Emmy Awards, the live music special Super Bowl Saturday Night, the live music special Walt Disney’s 4th of July Spectacular and the music special Disney’s Christmas on Ice.

In 1993, Kim worked as an executive producer on the TV movie Stolen Babies in 1993 and then followed that up working as a co-executive producer on the TV series New York News in 1995 and then in the next year she was an executive producer on the TV movie Chasing the Dragon.

It was that same year that she became an executive producer on the TV series Profiler where she remained under 1999. The following she was an executive producer on the TV movie How to Marry a Billionaire: A Christmas Tale that starred John Stamos, Joshua Malina and Shemar Moore.

Over the course of the next few seasons, Kim worked on the following shows: The Beast in 2001 as an executive producer and For the People in 2002 as an executive producer. She also worked as a producer on the 2002 TV movie Astronauts and as a co-executive producer on the 2004 TV movie Frankenstein.

But it was in 2005 that things changed for Kim (and her husband Ian) when she started working as executive producer on the hit TV series Ghost Whisperer, which ran for 5 seasons on CBS.

Kim has also co-created the Total Engagement Experience with husband Ian, a new business and creative model for television, which uses the television show as a component of a broader multi-platform entertainment experience that includes the internet, publishing, music, mobile, DVD’s, video games and more, establishing an infinity loop driving ratings and increasing revenue streams.

Most recently, Kim is the executive producer on the potential pilot Reckless that is up for consideration at CBS. The series is set in Charleston where sex and crime walk hand in hand as two adversaries, a gorgeous Yankee litigator and a Southern city attorney struggle to hide their attraction while clashing over a police sex scandal that threatens to implode the city.

Kim (and Ian) also have several other projects in development at ABC including Gaslight, a lavish soap opera of passion, greed and hope in a present-day Steampunk world in which three rival families battle for power and redemption in a re-imagined San Francisco. She and Ian also have several reality shows in the works, including Sex, Murder and Caviar, Braddock and The Big Hurt.
