LEVERAGE: The Radio Job

By  |

This week’s episode of Leverage was titled The Radio Job and it is the first of a two-part season finale. It was an explosive episode with a very emotional ending. The following are my thoughts as I watched.

  • Patents this week. That seems decidedly low-tech for our team, which maybe it is now that I’m watching the flashback. Latimer didn’t like how much Nate wouldn’t work for him, and I’m now feeling like the guy who agreed is actually someone Nate knows.
  • Hardison is a conspiracy theorist. Why am I so not shocked by this. But this heist that went poorly, well, the whole team is now invested in Nate’s heist without having to tell them anything. This is why I love our team–they will get it to work without having to admit to anything.
  • Anytime Hardison asks Eliot and Parker not to do something, that’s an open invitation for them to do it anyway. That’s why Hardison should never try to wear the repelling gear.

  • Right, so instead of hiring Nate, Latimer went with Nate’s dad. That’s not horrible at all. Being that it’s family, Nate is not going to leave without his dad or the patent.
  • Truly, I never tire of Eliot kicking someone’s butt.
  • The Island of Misfit Inventions – I want to marry this room full of crazy inventions.
  • Never argue with how the team manages to get their intel–using the patent archivist for them is something I wouldn’t have expected, but I don’t mind it at all.
  • That response by the government for those who violated the motion censors is crazy. This guy from the FBI looks like he’s a tool, which bodes so well for the team.
  • Nate’s plan for a hostage release is about to make me laugh. Well, it’s not Nate’s idea so much as Hardison on the choice of how to get Sophie out, but it’s always hilarious as the team works things out.
  • A radio play? I’ve watched this song long enough and I don’t even know what that is.
  • Jimmy just did this job for Nate, because Latimer said he’d kill Nate. Oh, that’s not what I’d want to have happen to Nate.
  • Parker riding some random device is pretty hilarious, especially when Hardison is trying to work.
  • The number of things going wrong with this con is getting out of control now. First the goons weren’t responsible for the security presence and now Homeland Security doesn’t buy Sophie’s story.
  • I’m frightened by what the writing staff has to say about Homeland Security, but that’s just me here.
  • Watching Eliot take a beating is not my idea of fun at all, even if I know it’s selling the con. But watching it happen after Hardison managed to use some of that old and worthless stuff was pretty great.
  • Dammit, I so wanted to hear Eliot curse on television.
  • Anytime I watch the team crawl on the ground, I want to wish it never had to happen.
  • Okay so who is in Rockford that wants to screw this badly with Nate?
  • Parker thinking that Jimmy went to 1962 amuses me. Also, when Hardison quotes the Eleventh Doctor, I especially want to love him.
  • This deal with Jimmy doesn’t seem like it’s going to work well. Getting knocked on the back of the head is never good, Jimmy. I’m not shocked that Latimer double crossed Jimmy, and now there’s a bomb and Jimmy says that he loved his son and that explosion is pretty crazy.
  • Is it too soon to wonder who the hell set up Jimmy and Latimer on this one? Oh I guess I’m getting that answer right now with this end tag. But I really don’t remember that guy at all. (Oh, now it seems that he was the guy from The Nigerian Job, which I forgot all about.)

The season finale is titled The Last Dam Job, and airs Sunday night at 9/8c, on TNT.
