Nice Boys

NICE BOY OF THE WEEK: Dillon Casey

By  |

Nikita returns this Friday night and I recently had the pleasure of chatting with the delicious and fun, Dillon Casey, who plays Sean Pierce. If there’s one thing I discovered about Dillon Casey during this conversation, it’s that he loves to laugh – my kind of interview.

Dillon Casey as 'Sean Pierce' on NIKITA

We discussed his role on Nikita for the most part, and Dillon confessed that to him, the most difficult scene to film was the very first one Sean was in. “I was very nervous, it’s the biggest part I had gotten in a television show, there’s a question of whether or not he was to become a series regular. I’m also jumping into a cast that has already clicked, and I’m kind of coming on to replace two other guys. So I put a lot of [pressure on myself and that was probably the most difficult scene to film.”

Working with Alberta Watson (Sen. Madeline Pierce), Dillon says, is an awesome experience, but he went fanboy when talking about working with Melinda Clarke (Amanda). “I was a huge fan of “The OC” when I was at university so it was crazy getting to work side by side with her. I told her many times before we started shooting, ‘I can’t believe I’m working with you!’ And I couldn’t tell if she liked that or not (laughs).” Dillon says at first, Lyndsy(Forseca) treated him much like she treats his character on the show. “She sort of kept me at bay for a while, she kept our relationship very professional for a while and now we’re starting to warm up to each other.”

I asked Dillon if there were anything he’d like to see changed in Sean and he replied that with all Sean’s training as a Navy Seal, he’d like to see him less controlled by his mother. He’d also like to be better at seduction and felt that his attempt to seduce Alex was pretty lame. “I can shoot guns but I can’t seduce a woman.”

Sean (Dillon Casey) is interrogated in "Sanctuary", airing on Jan. 13

Dillon did as much as he could to prepare for the role in the time he was given. He read all the books and memoirs of Navy Seals he could get his hands on and hopes that he does them justice in his portrayal. Of course it would help if Sean wasn’t getting beat up by girls all the time. Kinda makes Sean look like the Navy’s weakest link there and he hopes that can change. Casey’s not too bothered by it as long as they don’t kill him off the show. “They can do anything they want to me, just don’t kill me.” I offered to start a “Save Sean Pierce Campaign”, but I feel his fans will take pretty good care of him.

With the return of Nikita, Dillon teases that there is a “showdown on a beach with one of the women on the show,” and he’s pretty much half naked and strapped to a chair for interrogation for most of the episode. So he got a fresh tan and a new haircut and got all oiled down for the scenes. (You’re welcome, ladies!) Dillon is looking forward to a fight scene with Maggie Q. He says they were scheduled to film one, but Maggie had broken her finger just before they shot it and things had to be changed around. Maggie promises there will be a fight between Sean and Nikita, though. “Don’t worry, we will have that fight and she will kick my ass.” Just don’t kill him, Nikita!

I asked Dillon if there were anything he’d like to say to the fans out there. “Thank you for accepting me as part of the cast and keep supporting me, keep me alive on the show.”

No worried there, Dillon. You’re too nice to kill!

Watch Dillon Casey this Friday night at 8/7c, on the CW.
