CHARLIE’S ANGELS: Crew Member Fired for Slapping Minka Kelly’s Butt

By  |

The rebooted Charlie’s Angels premieres on ABC tomorrow night, but the show is making headlines this afternoon after TMZ broke the news that a male crew member was fired after slapping star Minka Kelly on the butt. Per reports, this isn’t the first time he’s done something like this, but it’s the first time ABC honchos heard about it and the network’s zero tolerance sexual harassment policy kicked in.

Minka handled the situation with class, reportedly telling the crew member, “Please don’t ever disrespect me or any other woman like that again.” Sources say that she was friendly with the guy and didn’t want him to lose his job, but with the other incidents that came to light, ABC had to stand by their no harassment policy.

We’re feeling rather rah-rah-go-sister over here at NGTV, although I can’t help but wonder if the timing of this isn’t a smidge suspicious. After all, Charlie’s Angels isn’t known for being a feminist bastion of pop culture, so a show of anti-sexist behavior from the network can’t hurt. Still, call me Pollyanna, but I’d like to think this is totally legit and the times, they are a-changin’.
