The TV Calendar for May

Here is what you can look forward to seeing on the major and cable channels throughout May, including all the season/series finales, some returning shows as well as made-for-TV movies:

May 1 – Law & Order: Criminal Intent and In Plain Sight will return with new episodes on the USA Network at 9 and 10 PM respectively

May 6 – The season finale of Fringe (yes, the show HAS been renewed) will air on FOX at 9 PM

May 7 – The movie Almighty Thor will air at 9 PM on Syfy

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: A volcanic fissure bursts open in the fortress of Valhalla, freeing the demon God Loki (Richard Grieco), who steals the Hammer of Invincibility; he plans to obliterate Los Angeles using the Hammer — and Thor (Cody Deal) is the only one who can stop him. This film also stars Patricia Velasquez (The Mummy).

May 8 – The season (and perhaps series) finale of Brothers and Sisters will air on ABC at 10 PM

May 8 – CSI: Miami will air it season finale on CBS at 10 PM

May 12 – CBS will air the season finale of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation at 10 PM

May 12 – The season finales of The Vampire Diaries and Nikita will both air on the CW at 8 and 9 PM (respectively)

May 13 – The end of an era is upon us, as after 10 seasons, Smallville will air its two-hour series finale on The CW from 8 to 10 PM

May 13 – CSI: NY and the new series Blue Bloods will air their season finales on CBS at 9 and 10 PM (respectively)

May 15 – The two-hour season finale of Desperate Housewives will air on ABC at 9 PM

May 16 – The CW will air the season finales of 90210 and Gossip Girl at 8 and 9 PM (respectively)

May 16 – Castle will air its season finale on ABC at 10 PM

May 16 – The season finale of the new show Hawaii Five-0 will air on CBS at 10 PM

May 16 – The season finale of Chuck will air on NBC at 8 PM

May 17 – It will be a big night of season finales on CBS when NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles and The Good Wife all end for the season at 8, 9 and 10 PM (respectively)

May 17 – One Tree Hill and the new show Hellcats will air their season finales on The CW at 8 and 9 PM (respectively)

May 18 – Law & Order: Special Victims Unit will air its season finale on NBC at 10 PM

May 18 – Criminal Minds will have its season finale on CBS at 9 PM

May 19 – CBS will air the two-hour season finale of The Mentalist from 9 to 11 PM

May 19 – Both Grey’s Anatomy and Private Practice will air their season finales on ABC at 9 and 10 PM (respectively)

May 19 – FOX will air the season finale of Bones at 9 PM

May 20 – Supernatural will air its 2-hour season finale from 8 to 10 PM on The CW

May 21 – The Syfy movie Sinbad and the Minotaur will debut at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Sinbad and his hearty crew seek a lost treasure and find themselves sneaking into the desert camp of the evil sorcerer Al-Jibar. Hidden among the many relics is an ivory scroll case containing the logs of the pirate Captain Minos. The movie stars Manu Bennett (Spartacus: Blood and Sand).

May 22 – The CBS movie Jesse Stone: Innocents Lost will premiere at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Tom Selleck returns as Police Chief Jesse Stone in this 7th movie of the popular movie series; this time in a story that finds Jesse, once again, on overload, looking into the death of a teenage girl and unofficially involved in the case of a convicted murderer who he thinks may be innocent. He’s also battling his familiar demons, alcohol and his ex-wife. Kathy Baker and Kohl Sudduth reprise their roles as the Paradise Police Force. William Devane, Stephen McHattie, Saul Rubinek and William Sadler also return with Gloria Reuben also guest starring.

May 23 – The Event will air its season (and most likely its series) finale on NBC at 9 PM

May 23 – The season finale of both House and the news series The Chicago Code will air on FOX at 8 and 9 PM (respectively)

May 23 – The HBO telefilm Too Big To Fail, based on the book by Andrew Ross Sorkin, will debut

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: The film will take a look at the epochal Wall Street financial crisis of 2008 and explore the inner sanctum of the powerful men and women who decided the fate of the world’s economy in a matter of a few weeks. The cast includes William Hurt, Ed Asner, Billy Crudup, Paul Giamatti, Topher Grace, Matthew Modine, Cynthia Nixon, Michael O’Keefe Bill Pullman, Tony Shahloub, James Woods, Kathy Baker, Evan Handler, John Heard, Dan Hedaya and Joey Slotnick.

May 24 – Glee will have its season finale on FOX at 9 PM

May 25 – Season 3 of the former FX series Damages will be reaired starting tonight on DirecTV at 10 PM

May 25 – The new series Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior will air its season (and perhaps series) finale on CBS at 10 PM
