Hawaii Five-o begins production in Honolulu with traditional Hawaiian blessing

The cast of Hawaii Five-o participate in a ceremony prior to the start of production.

CBS’ reboot Hawaii Five-0 began production on season 1 in Honolulu today, following a traditional Hawaiian blessing. Sources report that stars Alex O’Loughlin, Scott Caan, Daniel Dae Kim and Grace Park, as well as the producers and the entire Hawaii Five-0 crew, participated. Kahu Kelekona Bishaw from Kamehameha Schools officiated over the ceremony, which included traditional royal maile leis, a Pule Wehe (opening prayer) and Pule Ho’oku’u (closing prayer) calling upon the elements and inviting goodness, protection, peace, happiness and success.  Joining in the celebration was Police Chief Louis M. Kealoha.

The new Hawaii Five-0 will air on CBS Mondays at 10/9c this fall. The Nice Girls will be bringing you scoop about the series from Comic Con next week, so be sure to bookmark us and follow us on Twitter.
