TJ Thyne is one of our favorite people. He holds the distinction of being the first double Nice Boy, earning a place in the Nice Boy Hall of Fame after our delightful 2009 interview with him.
Although he had several guest spots on television and small film roles in the late 1990s and early 2000s, it was TJ’s portrayal of Jack Hodgins on the Fox hit series Bones that made him a household name. Jack is the resident conspiracy theorist and an expert on insects, spores and minerals in the lab. He’s also an expert on Angela Montenegro, his wife and mother of his child. As Bones heads into its 12th and final season, Thyne has a new challenge in playing the character as Hodgins’ proximity to an explosion in season 11 left him paralyzed from the waist down.
Thyne is originally from Boston, MA. He landed several lead roles at a young age in theater productions around the country, including The Secret Garden at the Dallas Theatre Center and the off-Broadway production of Van Gogh at New York’s Mint Theater Company. He’s guest starred in shows such as Friends, Cold Case, Boston Legal, Nip/Tuck, CSI: NY, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, Huff, The O.C. and 24.
Feature film credits include the roles of Stu Lou Who in How the Grinch Stole Christmas with Jim Carrey, the young lawyer David Foil in Erin Brockovich with Julia Roberts, and Gerald in How High with Method Man and Redman. He has also appeared in Something’s Gotta Give, What Women Want, Edtv, Ghost World, The Pardon and Ball Don’t Lie.
In 2001, Thyne founded Theatre Junkies Productions, which produces theater in the Los Angeles area as well as short films. The Theatre Junkies’ short film “Validation,” starring Thyne, played in film festivals around the world and won over 19 awards including Best Comedy Short and Audience Choice. (Watch “Validation” here.)
As you can see, TJ is loaded with talent, and he’s not hard to look at as well, making him a perfect choice for a Nice Boy. You can visit TJ at his official website, TJThyne.com.

He’d also like to be an expert on Angela Montenegro, but he’s having some problems there.
Ha! Good one! He really is a nice boy. I dig him.
I’m going to have to watch that OC episode to find TJ now.
But he is a very nice boy for us to honor.
