Later this summer a new web series called Necrolectric will debut online that is a romantic paranormal series with some elements and similar tones to The Vampire Diaries, Supernatural, Lost Girl and Teen Wolf. Needless to say, this new web series will appeal to a lot of viewers for a lot of great reasons.

Necrolectric tells the story of a woman, named Eve, struggling with her mysterious need to constantly die and come back to life, who begins to unravel the truth of who she really is when she teams up with a young woman who relives others’ deaths, a young man who talks to ghosts, a cursed immortal, and his electrically charged brother to solve a series of supernatural murders.

The web series comes from the creative minds of writers Lisa Stoddard (Executive Producer, Writer and Creator) and Jennifer Martin (Producer, Writer and Creator), who have been creating together for more than 25 years. In 2003, they had their first paranormal romance entitled “Lover’s Talisman” published. A few years later they were working on the third book in the Talisman Bay series that was to introduce two new characters, who the writers found so fascinating they first decided to do a spin-off series of books based on them; but when they were offered the opportunity to write a web series, they decided to include those two characters in this new project. Those two characters are immortal brothers Cas and Alaric.

In an exclusive interview with the creators of Necrolectic here is what the ladies had to say about these characters: “Alaric is a 2000-year-old immortal who’s just as bad as he is good. He loves living, loves people, loves every bit of existing, and gets himself in trouble on a regular basis. His zest for life has led to him being cursed thousands of times over. From silly to tragic, the curses have molded him into the person he is now” On the other hand, “Cas is (also) a 2000-year-old immortal, and Alaric’s brother. Born electric, he’s the introvert to Alaric’s extrovert. He keeps to himself because he doesn’t really like people, and he’s accidentally electrocuted so many people over the years that he’s learned simply to stay away. He still mourns the loss of the love of his life, who died tragically and unexpectedly years ago. He doesn’t like his brother, but he’s the only family Cas has left”.

The other characters in Necrolectric include the following:

Eve has to die on a regular basis, but always comes back in a different body with a different look. She doesn’t understand why or how it happens, but she’s been like this since the first time she came to life, fully grown, several decades ago.

Jax has lived his life being told that the ghosts he sees and talks to are not real. Tired of not fitting in, he left his family behind to work for a paranormal security company, where he’s appreciated for his talent and puts it to good use solving cases.

Z has a pretty dark ability. If she touches any part of a deceased person, she relives the last five to fifteen minutes of their life. Because of constantly “dying”, she has a hard time connecting with the living.

The first season of Necrolectric, which consists of six episodes – each about 20 minutes long – were filmed during August and September of 2013 and from February and mid-April of this year. Lisa and Jennifer shared that they were surprised “how well everything translated from the script. (Since) this is our first time as producers, we weren’t sure if we were being too ambitious, but everything came together without a hitch. In fact, we were able to make a few moments across multiple episodes more dramatic after discussions with our director and director of photography”.

It is the hope of the creators that “viewers are drawn into the conflict-ridden relationship between the two immortal brothers, which drastically changes once they both meet Eve”; and they are both looking forward to the viewers’ catching “the subtle hints and foreshadowing of relationships to come”. The ladies are also proud to share that actress Alexa Alemanni, who appeared as Allison on the AMC award-winning drama Mad Men, will guest star in two episodes of Necrolectric.

You can follow Necrolectric on Twitter and Instagram @necrolectric and on Facebook here. You can also follow Lisa Stoddard on Twitter @rinaslayter and Jennifer Martin @ashleighrainejn and the ladies share a Facebook page under their author pseudonym here.
