HELIX – 1.05 ‘The White Room’ Somebody Save ME!
Helix punches you in the gut from jump and continues the beating while you’re down!
Sergio is outside and Oh Dear God! NO! Not the freaking screaming monkey field again!
He light’s those puppies up and proceeds to communicate out into the ether.
Balesero’s instructions? Retrieve Dr HVIT. Whaa?
What’s that I hear? Screaming Freaking Frozen Monkey Chorus! They’re alive! I will never get that sound out of my head now. Sergio goes on the hunt for the mystery doctor and inquires of Dr. Shaw on his location. Dr. Shaw gives him a clue on the location of the white room. “We are all in the white room.”
Alan is testing and wants to begin animal trials, argues with Daniel and then discovers what is left of Doreen. Damn! I was hoping somehow she survived. I really liked her.
Alan suspects foul play and has a complete hissy fit and flings his mask. I agree! Daniel and Alan team up to get to the bottom of Doreen’s death. They make a great team and quickly discover who murdered Dr. Boyle. It’s Balleseros! Dr. Farragut confronts Sergio outside but winds up on the loosing end of the deal.
Sarah awakes from her morphine haze to her own screaming chorus of the Vector she is treating. Things aren’t going well, and seeing her interact with the infected knowing that. The scene between the two ladies as she assists the infected’s suicide was touching. Alan catches her just after shooting up on a vitamin M injection of her own and the young Doctor’s mask slips just enough to plant a big wet kiss on the object of her affection, Alan. She later plays the whole deal off as her feeble attempt to deal with Migraines. Riiight!
Daniel and Sergio face off when he catches Balleseros in Dr. Hitake’s office. Seeing them get in each other’s grill like that was great! You could practically see the testosterone in the air. Everyone is searching for The White Room and Sergio finds it when he Hoodwinked Daniel into revealing it’s location. It’s the outside. Whoa!
What sorcery is this? Hello Dr. Hvit! It’s a frozen severed head garden right out there in the snow.
What is seen cannot be unseen! I’m never going outside in the snow again!
The head takes on a life of it’s own when it transfers from Daniel to Balleseros and back again. Aerov snatched that thing back with such viscousness that would have made Gollum proud. My Precious! It’s mine! We’s musts have it! Sergio died a horrible death, but you can’t say he didn’t deserve it.
Meanwhile Hitake injures himself in an effort to endear himself to Julia. Nothing says love like a stab wound. The silver eyed doctor spins quite a yarn to the ladies on his wound and later reveals a tear jerker of a story to Julia after Jay is left behind when during a Vector attack. It is so difficult to tell what is real with this guy.
Speaking of real. What the hell? Jay IS Julia! Remember kiddo’s! One of the major symptoms is hallucinations! What a Trippy, trippidy, trip, trip, trip! It turns out Julia is her own superhero! You deserve a cape girl! You rock!
Observations:
- The Automated Voice of the Lab adds another layer of creepy to the show.
- Peter’s on the mend! What will he be like when he awakes and what does it mean?
