The following list provides the dates of the season premieres for all of the returning and debuting fall major network shows as well as the summer/series/season finales for the summer cable dramas, a few returning cable network shows along with a number of made-for-TV movies and/or mini-series that will all air during September:

September 3 through 6 – Luther will be back for a back-to-back four-night new season on BBC America at 10 PM

September 3 – The new OWN series The Haves and Have Nots will air its summer finale at 9 PM

September 6 – The Hallmark Channel movie Dear Dumb Diary will debut at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Jamie (Emily Alyn Lind) marches to the beat of her own music video. As an artistic and energetic glitter-loving diva in the making, the 11-year old’s vivid daydreams about how life should be are often played out as full-blown musical productions. In her mind, Hudson Rivers (David Mazouz), the eighth cutest boy in Mackerel Middle School, returns her affections and Angeline (Sterling Griffith), the prettiest and most popular girl in school, and other perfect people like her, are banished so that average folk get their due. Real life, however, is somewhat different and as a result, Jamie pours out her innermost thoughts in her cherished diary and shares some of her feelings with her beloved Aunt Carol (Laura Bell Bundy) as well as her shrewd best friend Isabella (Mary-Charles Jones), who may not be the best influence on her. When Mackerel Middle School’s arts program is threatened because of budget cuts, Assistant Principal Devon (James Waterston) announces the district’s first-ever Jump-a-thon fundraiser. Jamie sees her winning participation as an opportunity to not only save the arts program but also to impress Hudson, and by beating Angeline, bring justice to ordinary people of the world.

September 8 – Boardwalk Empire will be back for the start of its new season on HBO at 9 PM

September 8 – The six-part mini-series Last Tango in Halifax will debut on PBS at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: This is an uplifting comedy/drama about romance and second chances. Full of zesty humor, great characters and glorious dialogue, it’s about timeless love in a modern setting. Childhood sweethearts Alan and Celia, both widowed and in their 70s, fall for each other all over again when they are reunited over the internet after nearly 60 years. As their lives collide for a second time, the couple laments what might have been as they take audiences on a life-affirming journey together. While their relationship is a celebratory tale of the power of love at any age, it is also a story about family and the complications the relationship causes, especially for their grown daughters. The mini-series stars Derek Jacobi (The King’s Speech) and Anne Reid (Upstairs, Downstairs) [among others].

September 8 – Silk, the Masterpiece Mystery movie, will air its finale on PBS at 9 PM

September 9 – Mistresses will air its season finale on ABC at 9 PM

September 10 – Sons of Anarchy will air its 90-minute season premiere on FX at 10 PM

September 10 – The summer finale of Rizzoli & Isles will air on TNT at 9 PM

September 11 – Royal Pains will air its season finale on the USA Network at 9 PM

September 12 – The series finale of Burn Notice will air on the USA Network at 9 PM followed by the season finale of Graceland at 10:01 PM

September 12 – Rookie Blue will air its season finale on ABC at 10:01 PM

September 13 – Haven will return for a new season on Syfy at 10 PM

September 13 – A marathon of Torchwood Season 2 and Torchwood: Children of Earth will air on BBC America throughout the day – check your local listings for airtimes

September 14 – Torchwood: Miracle Day will reair on BBC America starting tonight at 9 PM

September 14 – The Hallmark Channel movie Garage Sale Mystery will debut at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Jennifer Shannon (Lori Loughlin) can always find a diamond in the rough – when it comes to garage sales, that is! Whether it’s a new antique to sell at her consignment shop, an Atari game for her son or a piece of furniture for her handy husband Jason (Rick Ravanello) to refurbish, she has made a career out of her treasure hunting prowess. When a string of burglaries hits her town, Jennifer’s keen eye for detail and her natural problem solving instincts even help her see the connection between these burglaries and local garage sales! Jennifer works with Detective Adam Iverson (Andrew Dunbar) to investigate her theory that the perpetrators of the burglaries are fellow garage sale regulars. The case escalates to dangerous levels when Jennifer discovers the dead body of her friend. Even though the deceased’s husband, Ben Douglas (Cameron Bancroft), finds nothing missing in their house, and the police label the death as accidental, Jennifer suspects that the death may be related to the burglaries.

September 15 – The three-part Masterpiece Mystery movie Foyle’s War will debut on PBS at 9 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: The three-part movie follows Foyle (Michael Kitchen) and loyal friend Sam (Honeysuckle Weeks) in a new post-war era as their worlds shift into those of MI5. With many stories based on real life cases, Foyle will focus his attention on the world of espionage as he gathers secret intelligence in support of Britain’s security, defense and the Government’s foreign and economic policies. In his new role as a Senior Intelligence Officer, Foyle discovers that the British establishment is rife with communist sympathizers and traitors. In this delicately balanced period in history, 1946-47, Foyle will use all his intelligence, guile and intuition to keep the country safe. Meanwhile, Sam is happily married to local MP Adam and finding her feet as a wife with a daunting role in local politics. Reunited with Foyle, she is also offered a surprising new working role.

NOTE: The remaining parts of Foyle’s War will air on the next two Sundays (September 15 and September 29) at the same time.

September 15 – The season finale of The Newsroom will air on HBO at 10 PM

September 16 – Bones will be back with a new season on FOX at 8 PM followed by the debut of the new series Sleepy Hollow at 9 PM

Show Synopsis: Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison, from Salmon Fishing in the Yemen) is resurrected and pulled two and a half centuries through time to unravel a mystery that dates all the way back to the founding fathers. Revived alongside Ichabod is the infamous Headless Horseman who is on a murderous rampage in present-day Sleepy Hollow. Bound to the Headless Horseman by a blood spell cast on the battlefield of the American Revolution, Ichabod quickly realizes that stopping Headless is just the beginning, as the resurrected rider is but the first of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. The cast includes Nicole Beharie (Shame), Orlando Jones (Drumline) and Katia Winter (Dexter).

September 16 – The season finale of the summer series Under the Dome will air at 10 PM on CBS

September 17 – Covert Affairs and Suits will both air their summer finales on the USA Network at 9 and 10:01 PM respectively

September 18 – BBC America will air the season finale of Law & Order: UK at 9 PM

September 20 – The Hallmark Channel movie The Watsons Go To Birmingham will debut at 8 PM

MOVIE SYNOPSIS: Set in the Summer of 1963 in Flint, Michigan, the Watsons are a close knit “All American Family” made up of Daniel and Wilona Watson, (Wood Harris and Anika Noni Rose) and their three kids, 15 year-old juvenile delinquent Byron (Harrison Knight), nerdy 11 year-old Kenny (Bryce Jenkins) and eight year-old adorable sister Joetta (Skai Jackson). When Byron’s antics go over the top, his parents realize enough is enough and they decide the family needs a dose of Grandma Sands (LaTanya Richardson) no nonsense approach in Birmingham, Alabama. So the Watsons load up the 1948 Plymouth Brown Bomber outfitted with a true tone Ultra-Glide turntable and head South with plenty of comedy en route. When they finally make it to Birmingham, they meet Grandma Sands and her friend, Mr. Robert (David Alan Grier), who show them around town and the Watsons discover that life is very different there than in Flint – and not necessarily for the better. During that historic summer, the Watsons find themselves caught up in something far bigger than Byron’s antics. Something that will change their lives and country forever.

September 22 – Dexter will air its series finale on Showtime at 9 PM followed by the season finale of Ray Donovan at 10 PM

September 22 – The penultimate episode of Breaking Bad will air on AMC at 9 PM (this episode will be 75 minutes long)

September 23 – Castle will air its season premiere on ABC at 10 PM

September 23 – The new NBC drama The Blacklist will debut at 10 PM

Show Synopsis: For decades, ex-government agent Raymond “Red” Reddington (James Spader) has been one of the FBI’s most wanted fugitives. Brokering shadowy deals for criminals across the globe, Red was known by many as “The Concierge of Crime.” Now, he’s mysteriously surrenders to the FBI with an explosive offer: he will help catch a long-thought-dead terrorist, Ranko Zamani, under the condition that he speaks only to Elizabeth “Liz” Keen (newcomer Megan Boone), an FBI profiler fresh out of Quantico. The cast includes Diego Klattenhoff (Homeland), Harry Lennix (Dollhouse) and Ryan Eggold (90210).

September 23 – The new CBS drama Hostages will debut at 10 PM

Show Synopsis: This thriller is about a family taken hostage in their own home. Toni Collette (United States of Tara) stars as a surgeon caught in the middle of a grand political conspiracy, who is ordered to assassinate the President of the United States (James Naughton) in order to save her family. Dylan McDermott (American Horror Story) stars as the lead hostage taker compelled to do the wrong thing for the right reasons in this taut drama filled with unexpected twists and turns. The cast includes Tate Donovan (Damages), Rhys Coiro (A Gifted Man), Sandrine Holt (House of Cards), Billy Brown (The Following), Mateus Ward (Lab Rats) and Quinn Shephard (Unaccompanied Minors).

September 24 – Chicago Fire will be back with its second season premiere on NBC at 10 PM

September 24 – NCIS, NCIS: Los Angeles and Person of Interest will all air their season premieres on CBS at 8, 9 and 10 PM respectively

September 24 – The new ABC dramas Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Lucky 7 will debut at 8 PM and 10 PM respectively

Show Synopsis (S.H.I.E.L.D.): Clark Gregg reprises his role of Agent Phil Coulson from Marvel’s feature films, as he assembles a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Together they investigate the new, the strange, and the unknown across the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary. Coulson’s team consists of Agent Grant Ward (Brett Dalton from Killing Lincoln), highly trained in combat and espionage; Agent Melinda May (Ming-Na Wen from Eureka), expert pilot and martial artist; Agent Leo Fitz (Iain De Caestecker from The Fades), brilliant engineer; and Agent Jemma Simmons (Elizabeth Henstridge from Hollyoaks), genius bio-chemist. Joining them on their journey into mystery is new recruit and computer hacker, Skye (Chloe Bennet from Nashville).

Show Synopsis (Lucky 7): In Astoria, Queens, a group of seven gas station employees have been chipping into a lottery pool for months, never thinking they’d actually win. Money could solve problems for each of them. Matt (Matt Long from Jack & Bobby) could get his girlfriend and two kids out of his mother’s house. Matt’s brother Nicky (Stephen Louis Grush from Detroit 1-8-7), an ex-con, could pay off a dangerous debt. Samira (Summer Bishil from Towelhead), a second-generation Pakistani immigrant, could afford to go to Juilliard. Denise (Lorraine Bruce from Eden Lake), a plucky cashier, could focus on rebuilding her crumbling marriage. Leanne (Anastasia Phillips from Stoked), a young mother, could help her daughter realize her dreams. Bob (Isiah Whitlock, Jr.), the store’s manager, could finally retire, and Antonio (Luis Antonio Ramos from The Ruins) could give his wife and kids a whole new life.

September 25 – The season finale of the mini-series Broadchurch will air on BBC America at 10 PM

September 25 – The second season of Revolution will start on NBC at 8 PM

September 25 – Nashville will return to ABC for its season premiere at 10 PM

September 25 – Criminal Minds and CSI will air their season premieres on CBS at 9 and 10 PM respectively

September 26 – Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Parenthood will be back with new seasons on NBC at 9 PM and 10 PM respectively

September 26 – Elementary will return for its sophomore season on CBS at 10 PM

September 26 – Grey’s Anatomy will air its two-hour season premiere on ABC at 9 PM

September 26 – Glee will air its season premiere on FOX at 9 PM

September 27 – New seasons of Hawaii Five-0 and Blue Bloods will air on CBS at 9 and 10 PM respectively

September 28 – The season finale of Cedar Cove will air on the Hallmark Channel at 8 PM

September 29 – The series finale of Breaking Bad will air on AMC at 9 PM (this episode will be 75 minutes long)

September 29 – Homeland will be back for a new season on Showtime at 9 PM followed by the new series Masters of Sex at 10 PM

Show Synopsis: The series follows the real-life pioneers of the science of human sexuality, William Masters and Virginia Johnson (to be played by Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan). The series chronicles the unusual lives, romance, and pop culture trajectory of Masters and Johnson. Their research touched off the sexual revolution and took them from a mid-western teaching hospital in St. Louis to the cover of Time magazine and nearly a dozen appearances on Johnny Carson’s couch. The cast includes Nicholas D’Agosto, Caitlin FitzGerald and Teddy Sears.

September 29 – The Good Wife and The Mentalist will air on CBS at 9 and 10 PM respectively

September 29 – Once Upon a Time and Revenge will air their season premieres on ABC at 8 and 9 PM followed by the new drama Betrayal at 10 PM

Show Synopsis: A chance meeting between photographer Sara (Hannah Ware from Boss) and attorney Jack (Stuart Townsend from XIII) leads to an instant and undeniable attraction. Sarah’s husband, Drew (Chris Johnson from The Vampire Diaries), is a successful prosecutor with political aspirations, while Jack is married to Elaine (Wendy Moniz from Guiding Light), the daughter of his boss, Thatcher (James Cromwell from American Horror Story). When Thatcher’s brother-in-law Lou is murdered, all evidence points to Thatcher’s son, T.J. (Henry Thomas from E.T.). Jack, the company’s lead counsel, will have to defend him, but for Sara’s prosecutor husband, Drew, this is the kind of high-profile murder case that can secure his political future. Just as Sara and Jack’s affair is starting, the lovers find themselves in an impossible situation. The cast also includes Elizabeth McLaughlin (The Clique) and Braeden Lemasters (Men of a Certain Age).
