Happy Endings was a late spring addition to ABC’s lineup last year. I tried not to get too attached because I assumed it would be canceled. After all, they held it until March, so the network must not have much faith in it. Surprise, not only is it totally endearing with an engaging cast, ABC picked it up for a second season!
Often compared to Friends, Happy Endings is the same kind of ensemble, relationship comedy slightly updated for the second decade of the twenty-first century. My favorite character so far is exuberant Penny. She tries so hard. Even when she knows her endeavor isn’t going to succeed, she gives it 110%. And she has pretty hair.
