My Top 12 Choices for June TV

By  |

The 2025-2026 TV season is quickly coming to a close, and with all the viewing options that will air in April – and there is a lot to choose from – I picked my top 12 and they are as follows:

CROSSOVER SPECIAL

The CBS dramas Sheriff Country and Fire Country will be back on April 3 after a couple of weeks of being off the air with new episodes with a crossover special at 8 PM and 9 PM. The action gets started on Sheriff Country when nine students go missing after a mysterious school bus explosion. Sheriff Mickey Fox and Cal Fire Division Chief Sharon Leone must set aside their personal conflicts and unite their departments to try and crack the case. That story will then roll over into Fire Country with firefighter Bode Leone and Deputy Nathan Boone (from Sheriff Country) must risk it all to save innocent lives as the clock ticks and the fate of those nine students hang in the balance.

SEASON PREMIERES

Then there are several season premieres, on both linear TV and streaming services, that will air throughout April that I am eager to watch, including:

XO, Kitty on Netflix is back with its third season on April 2;
The Boys will air its 5th and final season starting on April 8 on Amazon Prime;
The Way Home will premiere its fourth and final season on the Hallmark Channel at 8 PM on April 19; and,
The fourth season of Sullivan’s Crossing will start at 8 PM on CW on April 20.

SEASON FINALES

Then, as I mentioned, the current TV season on linear TV will be coming to a close in a few months, but several dramas will be airing their finales in April as well as one highly popular streaming series, and those include:

Memory of a Killer on FOX on April 6 at 9 PM;
High Potential on ABC on April 7 at 9 PM;
Wild Cards on CW on April 13 at 8 PM;
Doc on FOX on April 14 at 9 PM; and,
The Pitt on HBO Max on April 14.

BRAND NEW DRAMA

Throughout April there will be just a little over half a dozen new dramas debuting mostly on streaming services, but there is one cable network introducing a new mystery TV series based on one of that network’s 2025 made-for-TV movies, which itself was based on the best-selling Guideposts book series of the same name. Fair warning: Guideposts is a spiritual non-profit organization that publishes inspirational magazines, books and online material so this mystery series may not be for every viewer.

That new mystery TV series is called Sugarcreek Amish Mysteries and it will debut on April 23 at 9 PM on UPtv, the cable network that is known for uplifting entertainment. If you’re not that familiar with UPtv, you can think of that cable network as a slightly more spiritual network than what Hallmark Channel used to be back in the day and a bit less “preachy” than Great American Family.

The series focuses on Cheryl Cooper (Galadriel Stineman) who escapes to an Amish community in Sugarcreek, Ohio, to manage a gift shop after a failed engagement. Drawn into one mystery after another, Cheryl quickly realizes her sharp instincts and outsider perspective are exactly what this tight-knit community needs. With the help of the unlikely friendships she forges among her Amish neighbors (especially the Miller family), Cheryl uncovers more than just answers. She begins to piece together a new sense of home, belonging, and even the fragile possibility of love.
