Celebrating 10 Years

By  |

On June 2, 2009 I posted my very first column. It was a simple little piece about my love affair with television that started when I was a child, watching Saturday morning cartoons.

That love affair, naturally, grew and changed as I got older moving from kid-centric programming to more adult fare, ranging from action adventure series to lots and lots of sci-fi, fantasy and supernatural dramas. I love watching all kinds of mini-series, limited series, event series and made-for-TV movies, especially on the Hallmark Channel. Yeah, okay, I know they are pretty cheesy, but I still enjoy them.

Now, I am so excited to be celebrating TEN YEARS (and two days) as part of the staff here at NiceGirlsTV. As the old saying goes, I have to pinch myself sometimes to know that I have been a contributor for that long.

Throughout most of those 10 years, I have had so many opportunities to attend all kinds of cool conventions, getting the chance to interview really cool people behind the scenes and in front of the camera and meeting lots of fun members of the press, who love TV as much as I do.

My favorite event was the series premiere of Outlander at San Diego Comic Con in 2014, which featured the appearances of some of the cast and creative minds, including Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe as well as Executive Producer Ronald Moore and author Diana Gabaldon. Among my favorite interviews were with James Marsters (Spike himself) while he was appearing on Caprica at Comic Con 2010 and at Wonder Con 2011 where I got to interview Superman himself Henry Cavill and Luke Evans for their movie The Immortals.

And perhaps the most fun I’ve ever had was at several panels headlining John Barrowman at San Diego Comic Con with fellow NiceGirl Lisa. Listening to his outrageously funny stories was the highlight of several conventions, and seeing him perform a song and dance routine was particularly priceless. Here is his performance from 2017:

I look forward to celebrating more milestone with the staff of NiceGirlsTV, and hope that you, our readers, will continue visiting our site.
