A Million Little Things: Fight or Flight

By  |

On this week’s A Million Little Things:

Recurring nightmares force Maggie to face a life-altering trauma; Everything comes to a head at Regina and Delilah’s first tasting party at the new restaurant.

Here are Cay’s and Rueben’s thoughts:

Cay:

Gary, Gary, Gary. I like you, I really do. But all those women on the dating app and then Ashley?? OK, it’s not that out of character, but I still hated it. And the Ashley part makes it the worst because we know she is hiding stuff about Jon’s death. Speaking of which, I want to see some movement on that plotline, pronto. Looks like maybe next week based on the previews.

It’s interesting that Maggie is a psychologist and makes a living helping others overcome demons like hers. What will happen now that she may have come to peace with her brother’s death? Will she consider treatment (or is she too far gone at this point?).

I feel like Katherine is moving awfully quick. It’s been what, weeks, since she found out about Eddie and Delilah? Yea, she deserves to be happy, but she needs time to process all of this first. And then the baby secret drops. Yeah, she covered well after her initial response, but she’s a smart woman and I suspect she will be even more suspicious than the rest.

I like that Regina and Rome seem to be back in a better place.

Rueben:

Maggie is obviously even more damaged than we thought given her ever-changing nightmare about Chad, who was revealed as her 19-year-old brother with deep depression who died, leaving her thinking she was at fault. Why does she think that? Maybe Rome is right that her not getting treatment is perhaps her way of punishing herself for not being there for her brother, but is that really fair. I partially commend the group of friends for accepting Maggie’s decision, but in saying that I can’t say that I don’t disagree with Gary’s reaction when he learns they all know the truth and have accepted Maggie’s decision. There is no easy answer for this situation.

As for Gary, what a move to fly to Chicago to talk to Tom about needing him to come back to Boston to convince Maggie to get treatment. He really does care about her, but…once he learned that the whole group of friends knew about Maggie’s decision, he stormed out, went to have a drink with her and then ended up with her at her place. Really?! ARGH!!

My favorite line from the whole episode was what Rome said to Eddie about Hunter, “he’s like a chocolate George Clooney with a caramel Gosling center.” Priceless!!

And then Regina telling Katherine that Delilah is pregnant. OMG, I thought for a second that she was going to react more, but she seemed to buy that Jon is the baby daddy. I have a feeling, though, that “white” lie isn’t going to last for very long before one of them (Delilah or Eddie) breaks down and tells the truth.

Then there is Maggie collapsing, holy crap!
