HART OF DIXIE: “Curling Iron” {Recap}

By  |

Bluebell is still filled with all the drama that you’d expect after the premiere – where Zoe is pregnant and Lemon’s found a fake boyfriend to get money from Bettie.

At least Annabell can pretend she doesn’t know about Zoe’s pregnancy (even if she does), but it seems much more important that we all care about what Wade said to Zoe before she realized what was going on with her. That’s only one secret she has once she sees Shelby and Brick making out in the office. Her nerves aren’t any better at the bonne voyage party for Grandma, who wants to know what AB has been holding too many secrets about both Lemon and Brick. Only when AB is about to blow all her secrets do Brick and Lemon tell Grandma what’s going on with both of them.

As we all should imagine, Zoe’s going to be off her game today with the baby – and seeing Shelby’s baby doesn’t help. How else can babies come to haunt Zoe in one episode? To avoid talking about the pregnancy with AB, Zoe goes off with Rose to her tween retreat. The retreat’s all about sex – of course – and now Zoe’s struck talking about it with girls who are very invested in her love life. Rose figures out what had Zoe all in a tizzy with the tweens, but Zoe can’t admit to how or when she wants to tell Wade.

Levan and George are in search of some news about mysterious flowers that were delivered to someone’s house by Henry, but the woman who runs the flower shop is a date George didn’t pay attention to. Levan gets the information they need. George has nothing for that trip, but when they get to Henry’s friends house, the answer is clear: the flowers aren’t from the their friend for Henry’s friend’s wife, but for the maid from Henry. Good for all of us that after this whole day George and Levan are going to be friends.

With Zoe off with the girls, Wade and Lemon have a heart to heart about what went wrong with their conversations two months ago and today. Their conversation reminds me of why I like them on screen together and why I wish they’d get more of that. After Zoe blows off their date when she’s about to reveal her pregnancy, Wade wants to tell Lemon that she’s given him bad advice.

After both Zoe and Wade figure out what they want, they agree to try again and go out to dinner for real this time. But it blows up because of the baby and AB and Lemon go to Zoe as a comfort. Zoe admits she wants to have this baby on her own, because she and Wade are never on the same page. But then she tells him about the baby and how she doesn’t expect anything form him and Wade looks as if he’s been hit by a truck.

Bettie has gotten along so well with Shelby and Henry, but then the Sheriff comes to say that Henry’s a fraud and Lemon admits what they did together. That reveal may not beat what happens when George and Levan hear about Zoe’s baby.
