ARROW: Stephen Amell previews season 3 at Comic Con {Video}

By  |

Stephen Amell was the King of Comic Con this year – he seemed to be everywhere as the face of The CW’s most successful show and DC Comics’ recent voyage into TV, and promoting the new Arrow spin-off (and DC property) The Flash. After two years of watching Arrow, I was thrilled to finally get to see him in person.

Despite his crazy schedule and it being way past lunchtime and him admitting that he didn’t remember having a real meal in days, Stephen was still the last to leave the press room as so many wanted to talk with him after everything else wrapped up.

We talked about the differences between his first SDCC three year ago and now and got some scoop on what to expect from season 3.

Some highlights:

  • Three years ago at Comic Con, no one recognized him, despite the fact that he was on some of the official Comic Con bags. That’s not true anymore!
  • He’s a huge fan of John Barrowman (Malcolm Merlyn)and he’s really excited to finally have some more scenes with him once Oliver realizes that Thea isn’t backpacking in Europe as he thinks. Thea’s role will also become more active this season
  • Team Arrow is going to start out the season in a very good place, which means things are going to get bad fast
  • In the first episode, Oliver will see a vision of himself…literally…that he doesn’t like and that will change his opinion of what he is willing to risk
  • Most of the main characters will get episodes that focus on their characters this season – Diggle, Felicity, Thea

Arrow returns on TONIGHT at 8/7c on The CW
