Bones Cast Takes on Comic Con, Again

By  |

Bones panels at Comic Con tend to be full of free association for cast members David Boreanaz and Emily Deschanel and executive producer Stephen Nathan. The start to the 2014 panel had a misleading conversation about what Boreanaz and Deschanel had shot the day before; the scene involved bones, but not the sort Dr. Brennan wants to study – a dead body – but a lawyer.

Coming off the end of last season’s discovery of a large conspiracy within the FBI and other organizations, Booth has been in jail for four months and Brennan and the team finally have a lead on how to get Booth out of jail. For a Booth – who will have some scruff for the first time all series – that meant that Boreanaz started to pitch ideas for how Booth would finally lose that hair. Should we all worry that Boreanaz has his own fic ideas now?

If that wasn’t entertaining enough, there was a riff about how Boreanaz pronounces “bullet”, which went into another strange tangent.

Very few spoilers about the this season were revealed, aside from a few cases of the week – including a dead body at a Forensics conference. Brennan and Booth also need to find a new home following the end of last season and Brennan will also be forced to deal with having their baby on her own for reasons Brennan doesn’t like (compared to last season’s finale where Brennan left with their daughter for her own reasons). Booth and Brennan will go undercover once again and some persona like Rush Limbaugh will be a dead body for an episode. Another episode will deal with domestic slavery and human trafficking. One will also feature something similar to Wolf of Wall Street.

The 200th episode will be a special episode, without a typical murder and executive producer and creator Hart Hanson will be back to help write it, said Nathan.

Fans asked about the potential return of Zach Addy and also about Hodgins’ brother. Zach’s return doesn’t seem likely, but Hodgins’ brother will make an appearance.
