HART OF DIXIE: Carrying Your Love with Me

By  |

Things in town are as crazy as ever, and it seems that more and more drama’s on the horizon as the season starts to wind down.

Town Gossip: Levan is being roped by Rose to host their sister city’s mayor for a visit. That will only end poorly for everyone. Especially when the female mayor from France doesn’t make the trip out because of her

Lemon wants to still buy Fancy’s, but George won’t be part of plan by agreeing to buy the restaurant. In the end, Lilianne, who George went on tour with last summer, has purchased the restaurant to help practice her new album which basses George all the time. Now that Lilianne had also started to sing about Wade, it seems more important for Lemon to get the restaurant from her.

Lilianne does leave the restaurant to George and Lemon, but it’s trouble in paradise. Lemon and George are not a good mix working together. That other lawyer from before is representing Lilianne and suing Lemon and George for unlawful intimidation. Of course the tactic to get the restaurant backfires. Of course!

Lilianne gets Fancy’s back after a hearing. Vivian gives Lilianne some advice on how not to dry away customers, but also starts to try and scare her off too.

Brick has been trying to win Bluebell Man of the Year but in the end it goes to Joel, who wasn’t even in town to campaign for the honor. Zoe’s acceptance speech suggests that she doesn’t think Joel’s going to come back, and suggests that she didn’t tell anyone about Joel and her splitting up. The town comes to Zoe’s side to help her through the break-up with all the good things that Bluebell does for its citizens.

Relationship Drama: Joel and Zoe are trying to adjust to the idea of being separated, and it’s awkward at best. But then the town is trying to convince Joel to stay and it seems even more awkward.

On Joel first available weekend, Zoe gets sick and has to miss her visit to see him. After her failed visit, Zoe’s mood is improved because Joel’s arriving. Joel’s flight is delayed and so Zoe’s frantically trying to work on things for her and Joel’s house so that he can get things done in the short time he has here. No work on the house gets done, but they do have an awkward make out session in her car. Serious trouble in paradise.

Post that awful weekend with Joel, Zoe looks distressed and unwell. When she finally gets to visit, it turns out that the movie’s been fast-tracked so that Joel will be in London in July. This news really is testing their relationship and Joel doesn’t want to risk choosing between his job and his girlfriend, but he doesn’t want to choose not to be with her either. In the end, Zoe and Joel take a break, though it doesn’t feel like it in their last kiss.

Getting Fancy’s back also lead to George and Lemon having another roll in the hay. Because that’s what they needed.

Roz lives in the Los Angeles area, and has been a long time California girl. Despite her better judgment, she enjoys shows about the shallow sides of her home city, but will also find time to watch iZombie, Jane the Virgin, and much more. With a love of history, she also watches anything that is grounded in real life, including Victoria and black-ish. Having worked with children, she also follows shows she knows they watch (reminding her of those days of yore for her in the process). Contact her at roz@nicegirlstv.com.
