Lost Girl Season 4: Where Is Bo?

By  |

Last night on the Canadian channel Showcase, the much-anticipated season premiere of the guilty pleasure sci-fi series Lost Girl aired, delving into what happened to Bo (series lead Anna Silk) after the mysterious black cloud captured her inside the walls of the Dal, making her disappear.

Bo Season 4

WARNING: For those in the U.S. who have to wait until January for the fourth season of Lost Girl to air on Syfy, please tread lightly as I will be revealing a few small spoilers on the first two episodes.

(PS: Thanks to the folks at Shaw Media/Showcase for giving me the opportunity to see screeners of these two episodes in advance of the U.S. airings.)

The season premiere entitled “In Memoriam” focuses on the aftermath of Bo’s disappearance except the fact that all of the players don’t even seem to remember Bo. That is especially evident when Kenzi (series regular Ksenia Solo) is approached by a new client – Bo’s mother Aife (recurring guest star Inga Cadranel) – [who is somehow alive after the incidents of the third season finale in which she was shot] – who is looking to find out who took her memories.

Dyson Season 4

But as it turns out, Aife isn’t the only one with a loss of memory: every single one of them is under the same spell – or more specifically an implant inside each of their eyes that has made them forgot about Bo. But why?

Well, I won’t spoil that part for those in the U.S. who will want to be surprised, but I will tell you that the solution involves a compass that the team has to retrieve from an uber-wealthy, but rather reclusive Fae (guest star and Star Trek legend George Takei).

Thanks to the compass and Trick’s (series regular Rick Howland) knowledge, their memories are returned with Dyson (series regular Kris Holden-Ried) and Hale (series regular K.C. Collins) setting out to track down what happened to Bo.

Kenzi Season 4

The leads that the duo find takes them to a Fae beauty salon that leads Dyson back to a mysterious Fae sprite (guest star Mia Kirshner) who he met at a party for the reclusive Fae with the compass.

The sprite leads Dyson to a special otherworldly train where Bo seems to be trapped, but I will not spoil how this new duo gets on the train and what happens with Bo.

Lauren Season 4

Viewers should also be aware that Tamsin (last season’s new series regular Rachel Skarsten) isn’t completely gone since the car accident from the third season finale; but she isn’t quite herself. As a Valkyrie, Tamsin has the ability to – much like the Phoenix – can rise from the ashes and be reborn. In the second episode viewers will get to see a mini-me version of Tamsin – found by Dyson near the location of the car accident – who is taken under wing by a very reluctant Kenzi that will have a rather comic conclusion. And, Lauren (series regular Zoie Palmer) may have fled the city, hiding under cover in a really bad long-haired red wig and working in a diner as a waitress, but she’s not gone.

For those in Canada, make sure to watch the next episode of Lost Girl on Sunday, November 17 at 9 PM on Showcase and for those of us here in the States we will just have to wait for January to roll around so we can watch it on Syfy.
