Heading to WonderCon 2013

This coming Friday, I will venture to Anaheim (California) for WonderCon 2013, which lasts until Sunday, March 31 (yes, Easter Sunday!).

As I’m sure most of you know, by now, WonderCon 2013 is the precursor to the annual Comic Con that has been held in San Diego for well over four decades now.

Some of the big events that will take place at WonderCon 2013 this weekend include the following:

• A Warner Archives Collection, featuring legendary Tarzan actor Ron Ely;
• Geek & Sundry Panel of Awesome that will highlight the work of fan favorite actress Felicia Day;
• The Disney/ABC’s of TV Writing
• An Exclusive Warner Brothers Screening that will include unaired episodes of Revolution, Arrow, The Following and Teen Titans;
• A Beauty And the Beast panel that will feature a sneak peek at an unaired episode as well as an appearance by series lead Kristin Kreuk and Executive Producer Kelly Souders;
• The world premiere of the new animation film Superman: Unbound;
• A panel for the upcoming Netflix series Hemlock Grove;
• A special advanced screening of Doctor Who and Orphan Black;
• Living with Vikings, a panel for the new History Channel mini-series;
• A panel for the upcoming Guillermo del Toro film Pacific Rim;
• A Falling Skies panel, featuring cast members and a sneak peek at the season 3 premiere;
• A special “trailer park” panel that will include trailers for some of the bigger upcoming movies set for this year;
• A Writer’s Panel that include panelists such as Gabrielle Stanton (Arrow and Haven), Jose Molina (Firefly and The Vampire Diaries), Amy Berg (Eureka and Leverage), Jesse Alexander (Heroes and Alias) and Javier Grillo-Marxuach (Lost and The Middleman) [among others];
• A panel for the new NBC series Revolution that will feature some of the show’s cast;
• A spotlight to renowned author Dean Koontz;
• A presentation by Sony Pictures for their upcoming films City of Bones, Evil Dead and This Is The End;
TV Guide Magazine’s salute to TV Showrunners;
• A spotlight on well-known artist Jason Palmer;
• A panel for the MTV series Teen Wolf, featuring cast members Tyler Posey and Dylan O’Brien as well as a preview of what’s coming in the show’s new season;
• A panel for Under the Dome, this summer’s new series based on the Stephen King novel;
• An exclusive screening of the new NBC series Hannibal;
• The 9th Annual WonderCon Masquerade;
• A panel for the upcoming Joss Whedon film Much Ado About Nothing, featuring panelists Nathan Fillion, Fran Kranz, Clark Gregg, Sean Maher, Tom Lenk and Whedon himself;
• A panel for the new CW series Arrow that feature cast members Stephen Amell, Colin Donnell, Willa Holland and Paul Blackthorne as well as exclusive footage of upcoming episodes; and
• A presentation of Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog.

There are, of course, plenty more panels and presentations set for the three-day event and you can learn about the above panels and so much more being planned for the annual fete here.
