Delta Goodrem

Musician Spotlight: This month’s musician spotlight is on Delta Goodrem, an Australian singer-songwriter, pianist and actress who was signed to Sony at the age of 15 and rose to prominence in 2002 after starring in the popular Australian soap Neighbours. Her largely self-penned debut album called “Innocent Eyes” was released in 2003 and debuted at number one in Australia; it also peaked at number 2 in the UK.

During this time, Delta won seven ARIA  Awards (Australian Recording Industry Association), and at 18 years of age was also diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma. She later went into remission and began work on her second album “Mistaken Identity,” which came out in 2004 and again debuted at number one in Australia. Two years later, she released her third album simply called “Delta”. Her as yet untitled fourth album is anticipated to be out sometime in 2012.

To date, Delta has eight number 1 singles in Australia with all three of her albums reaching number one status. She also currently holds the record for the highest selling album of the last decade and the most number 1 singles from any debut album. And, she has sold approximately 5 million albums and 6 million combined albums and singles worldwide.

NOTE: Delta Goodrem is not associated with the Paley Fest in any way. This is simply a spotlight on her.
