LOST GIRL Recap: “Fae Gone Wild” (Episode 7)

By  |

Dyson

While Bo is contemplating what to do with the gift box from The Morrigan, Kenzi is trying to convince her to either open it, throw it away or just do something, anything, with it rather than just sit there staring at it.

Meanwhile at the police station where Dyson and Hale work, an unidentified guy is being chained tightly to a table in one of the interrogation rooms. Seconds later a trio of scantily-clad women wearing masks over their eyes enter the room much to the pleasure of the gathered police officers. They begin to dance around the men very seductively seemingly putting the officers under some kind of trance.

Not that much later Dyson and Hale walk into the office, finding some of the cops half-dressed, all of them much too “happy” and the chained man missing. It turns out that the chained man is actually Zephyr a very dangerous murderer who was being transferred through their station. What our favorite cops can’t quite figure out is why a group of Fae women would help a human killer sneak out of the police station in a uniform taking from the tranced cops.

In a water-side park Bo and Kenzi are meeting with a very concerned mother who believes her daughter is the woman who walked Zephyr out of the police station if a picture she saw on the news is any evidence. The mother claims that her daughter Sherri ran away 10 years earlier over an argument. But the mother has no idea why her daughter would help a man like Zephyr because she continually insisted they are “simple tree folk”. Bo honestly told the mother that she “is a sucker for mother-daughter reunions”, but if Sherri was working with Zephyr, she would have no choice but to turn Sherri over to the police. As the mother leaves, Bo and Kenzi both question whether the mother is telling the truth about her family being simple tree folks or not – they seriously doubt it. But what is worst of all, Bo and Kenzi will have to work under the radar so Dyson and Hale don’t figure out they are working a missing person case that is related to their hunt for Zephyr.

Once determining that Zephyr is Russian, Kenzi makes a phone call to one of her connections who puts them on the trail of where Zephyr might be hiding with his trio of rescuers. At the same time Hale is interviewing all of the officers who were affected by the trio of dancers; but then he is interrupted by Dyson, who claims a snitch came through with a lead on Zephyr’s location. Not surprisingly, Bo is already at the location in question – an abandoned warehouse, finding the escape van. As she grabs clues from inside the vehicle, she hears a car pull up outside and as she tries to sneak out, she runs straight into a body hanging from the ceiling: Zephyr

The moment it takes, by her finding the body, gives Dyson and Hale, who were in the car that pulled up outside the warehouse, to get the drop on Bo. In a failed attempt to distract the men, Bo tries to make small talk, but Dyson isn’t buying it. He demands that Bo start explaining what she is doing there, but all she is willing to give up is the fact she is working on a missing person case. Oddly, Zephyr is missing a hand and Dyson and Hale believe it is ritualistic and they will need to find out why it was done as well as find the dancing trio, who are nowhere to be seen at the warehouse.

Back at Trick’s bar, Bo and Kenzi are going through everything that Bo found in the van, but none of it seems to be leading anywhere. They are then surprised by a visit from Dyson’s new lady-love Kiara, who shows up at the bar, wanting a drink before she has to leave for Zurich. As Trick explains to the girls, Kiara ran her husband’s security company (the King who Dyson use to “work” for centuries ago) but with his recent death, Kiara now owns it all. “So Dyson’s new girlfriend is a billionaire and I live in a house with no walls”, she chides to Kenzi. Thankfully, Kenzi finds a VIP membership card for a gentlemen’s club among the items Bo swiped from the escape van, which gives Bo the distraction from Kiara that she so desperately needs, as that club could possibly lead them to their missing person: Sherri

Hale is then seen questioning one of the officers who seemed to know one of the dancing girls a little too much; and while it takes a bit of convincing the officer gives up that he met Sherri at the same gentlemen’s club where Bo and Kenzi are headed. The officer also admits that he probably told Sherri that he was in charge of transferring Zephyr, giving Sherri the advantage to take his key card to sneak inside the police station to help get Zephyr out.

Only moments after entering the club, seeing all the women on stage, Kenzi and all of the men in the club are hypnotized; and while Bo admits to being “horny” she isn’t hypnotized like the rest of them. It becomes apparent that they need to figure out what Sherri really is so Kenzi draws her over to them for a lap dance. But, unfortunately, Bo is horrible at being subtle, asking questions of Sherri as if she is a cop, upsetting Sherri and making her back off.

Covering up for Bo’s slip-up and to keep the owner of the club, who approached as Sherri got suspicious of Bo’s questioning, Kenzi chimes in that Bo is actually looking for work. They use this opportunity as a way for Bo to get inside the club – working behind the bar (which is what Bo used to do before she learned the truth about herself and the Fae world).

Meanwhile, Trick receives a report about a group of Light Fae nuns who attacked members of the Dark Fae at a charity clothing drive for no apparent reason. While he demands the person on the phone to keep him updated, Bo shows up in the hopes that Trick can help her find out what the deal is with the cut-off hand of Zephyr. As usual, Trick does know something about it. It is a ritual related to the Hand of Glory, which is a talisman for thieves. By cutting off the hand, it allows the possessor to make a candle that will allow access into anything that person wants to get inside, as long as the candle stays lit, of course. Trick explains that the more vicious the killer, the worse the power of the candle, the worse the talisman. At the same time, Lauren is telling Dyson the same story. It is then that Dyson asks Lauren if she has filled Bo in on any of these details and she admits she hasn’t. But, as Dyson leaves, Lauren asks if she can stick around the police station before her “guard dogs” – put in place by the Ash – make her return to the compound.

Lauren then calls Bo and tells her about the autopsy and what Dyson knows about the Hand of Glory. She also asks if Bo was able to get an answer to her predicament with the Ash; but Bo doesn’t tell her about the gift from The Morrigan rather that she was left with a lot of questions. She also tries to ask Lauren about Nadia without coming right out and mentioning her name; but Lauren also keeps quiet. (Holding secrets isn’t also a good thing, ladies.)

Not much later, Dyson and Hale show up at the club, discovering that Bo is there working. She quickly explains that she is undercover to figure out what Sherri is up. Bo knows it’s something big if only they give her some time she can find out the truth. They begrudgingly agree, giving Bo a chance to sneak into the club owner’s office, where she finds not only stuffed sharks hanging on the walls but also an nearly invisible hidden safe that she bets is what Sherri is after. The owner of the club catches her, though, but she is able to lie her way out, taking his drink glass with her in the hopes of finding out more about him.

According to Dyson and Hale, once they see a picture of the safe Bo found, it is not only holographic, made by the best metallurgists in the world, but also impenetrable; which is precisely why Sherri needs the Hand of Glory. There is obviously something inside that Sherri wants badly enough and Bo asks the guys to give her time to determine what that is. While they are taking the DNA results of the fingerprints on the club owner’s drink glass come back, revealing he is actually a Dark Fae – a water spirit who “gets off” on abducting women.

Armed with these details, Bo and Kenzi meet with Sherri’s mom to get to the truth of who they really are and for what Sherri is searching. Her mother comes clean, telling the girls that they are actually selkies – a cross between a mermaid and a ‘seal shifter’. She never told her about their real identity; but when Sherri was 15 she found her pelt – the one thing that ties the selkies to the ocean – and ran away after her mother told her the truth. Without their pelts the selkies can never go back to the sea so they all agree that is what Sherri must be searching for at the club.

This revelation brings Bo back to the club, catching Sherri in the beginning process of using the Hand of Glory in order to get her pelt back from the club owner who stole it. But, it’s not just her pelt that she is after: all of the girls working at the club are tied to the club owner because they are all selkies and he has all of their pelts. Sherri tells Bo they wanted to open a beachside hotel and bar, but they didn’t have the money to fund the project and that is when they met Lewis, the club owner. He made them an offer that they dance for him for one year and then he would return their pelts, but he never did. By using the Hand of Glory they could finally be free.

Just as they prepare to begin the ritual to enact the Hand of Glory, Lewis comes into the club and finds them; but hot on his heels are Dyson and Hale, who want to arrest Sherri for the murder of Zephyr. But Sherri and Bo both touch the Hand as the wick is lit and it freezes everyone in the club except for the two of them. They quickly move into Lewis’s office and use the Hand on the holographic safe, securing all of the girls’ pelts; but the power of the Hand is almost too great and it begins to chock the life out of Sherri until Bo, remembering what Trick told her, douses it with milk, enabling the Hand completely and unfreezing everyone in the club.

The girls rejoice in getting their pelts back while Bo convinces Dyson not to arrest Sherri for Zephyr’s murder and takes Lewis in to be judged by the Fae elders for his crimes against the selkies. They contrive a story to save Sherri’s life that ends up as the front page story of the local paper: convicted killer Zephyr committed suicide.

The mother-daughter reunion happens while Bo witnesses their reconciliation and then Sherri uses her pelt to return to the sea. She and the other girls from the club will finally get to have their beachside hotel and bar because Bo was able to help them.

Then returning to Trick’s bar he is meeting with Lauren about the unprovoked attacks happening between the Light and Dark Fae as Bo stops by to finally give Lauren the gift box from The Morrigan and finally questioning her about Nadia. Lauren admits that Nadia is her girlfriend and they met five years ago in the Congo where Lauren was on a research grant and Nadia was working as a photographer for a magazine. Five months in, the village where they were staying was hit by a deadly illness that affected the Fae – this was the first time Lauren learned about the Fae world – but somehow Nadia was affected too and has been in a coma ever since. Lauren met the former Ash during that time and he offered all of his resources to Lauren to make Nadia well in return for Lauren’s complete servitude. Now with the new Ash in place she is trapped; but as they open the gift that could potentially help Nadia (and in essence help Lauren) the contents look like some kind of rusted nail that not even Lauren can identify.
