Today’s Women Behind the Scenes spotlight is shone on Writer-Producer Kathleen McGhee-Anderson.

In the 1980’s, Kathleen worked as a writer on such shows as Little House on the Prairie, Webster, Gimme a Break!, 227 and Amen.

Moving into the 1990’s, she worked as a writer on The Cosby Show in 1991 and then a few seasons later she worked as a writer and creative consultant on the popular CBS series Touched by An Angel and as a consulting producer and writer on South Central that same year.

Over the next few years, she worked as a writer on the short-lived series 413 Hope Street and as a consulting producer on Any Day Now. In 1998 she was the writer and co-producer on the made-for-TV movie The Color of Courage that starred Linda Hamilton and Lynn Whitfield.

From 2001 through 2004, she worked as a writer and consulting producer on Soul Food and most recently (2006 to 2009) she worked as the executive producer and writer on the ABC Family drama Lincoln Heights, which earned Outstanding Drama Series by the NAACP in 2010.

Using her favorite online handle, Rueben is an East Coast-bred gal who is now a permanent Californian and a lifelong tv-oholic. She watches at least 25 TV shows a week, goes to the movies as often as possible, listens to music every waking moment, reads every day and “plays” on the internet every chance she can. Some of her current favorite TV shows are Outlander, Sweet Magnolias, Wednesday, The Mandalorian, The Equalizer, Fire Country, Miss Scarlet, Hudson & Rex, SkyMed, The Rookie, Cobra Kai, Virgin River, The Witcher, Leverage: Redemption and School Spirits. She is looking forward to the long-awaited return of Bridgerton, is curious about the debut of Orphan Black: Echoes and the 3rd and final season of Sweet Tooth coming in June, and the season finales of the abbreviated 2023-2024 TV season.
