Reasons To Be Thankful
Over the last couple of weeks, some of the NiceGirlsTV staff have been sharing the things for which they are most thankful for this year where TV is concerned.
As always, each TV season gives viewers a lot of programming options to watch all year long whether it’s new or returning shows, mini-series or event series and/or made-for-TV movies.
Here is the rest of my list:
Good Endings – A number of dramas came to an end throughout 2016; some airing not-so-good endings *cough* Castle *cough*, but some airing good endings or at least endings that brought lingering stories to a satisfactory conclusion. Those dramas, in my opinion, include Rizzoli & Isles (TNT), Bitten (Syfy), Downton Abbey (PBS), Royal Pains (USA Network), Person of Interest (CBS) and Beauty And the Beast (The CW). I’m thankful that these show gave us fun, touching, interesting and/or heart-pounding endings.
Hallmark Channel – While I enjoy watching the dramas that air on this network, I enjoy the year-long movies that air on there too. Whether its Countdown to Valentine’s Day, Spring Fling, June Weddings, Fall Harvest, 5-Night Thanksgiving or Countdown to Christmas, the year is filled with romantic and touching movies that might seem a little predictable and even trite to many, but I enjoy them for what they.
Superheroes – The CW has become the go-to network for all things superhero with Supergirl transplanting there from CBS on Mondays followed by The Flash on Tuesdays, Arrow on Wednesdays and Legends of Tomorrow on Thursdays. All we need is for the network to create another spin-off or a new adaptation of any DC superhero to take on Fridays and the week will be complete.
Shadowhunters – This new fantasy-laced drama is based on The Mortal Instruments novels by Cassandra Clare that focuses on 18-year old Clary Fray, a human born with angelic blood who learns that she is a Shadowhunter, someone who protects humans from demons. This is my one guilty pleasure show for the entire year that will return for its second season in January on Freeform.
What programming options have you enjoyed most this year. Please share them below.
Happy Thanksgiving to all of our readers who celebrate the holiday!
