NEW DRAMA DESCRIPTIONS:

New Fall Dramas:

Betrayal – A chance meeting between photographer Sara Hadley and Attorney Jack McAllister leads to an instant and undeniable attraction. Sarah’s husband, Drew, is a successful prosecutor with political aspirations, while Jack is married to Elaine, the daughter of his boss, Thacher Karsten. When Karsten’s brother-in-law Lou is murdered, all evidence points to Karsten’s son, T.J. Jack, the company’s lead counsel, will have to defend him, but for Sara’s prosecutor husband, Drew, this is the kind of high-profile murder case that can secure his political future. Just as Sara and Jack’s affair is starting, the lovers find themselves in an impossible situation — on opposite sides of a murder investigation. The cast includes Hannah Ware, Stuart Townsend, Chris Johnson, James Cromwell and Henry Thomas. From David Zabel.

Lucky 7 – In Astoria, Queens, a group of seven gas station employees have been chipping into a lottery pool for months, never thinking they’d actually win; then they do. The cast includes Isaiah Washington and Matt Long (among others). From Jason Richman, Steven Spielberg, Darryl Frank and Justin Falvey (among others).

Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. – Agent Phil Coulston assembles a small, highly select group of Agents from the worldwide law-enforcement organization known as S.H.I.E.L.D. Together they investigate the new, the strange and the unknown around the globe, protecting the ordinary from the extraordinary. The cast includes Clark Gregg and Ming-Na (among others). From Joss and Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen.

Once Upon a Time in Wonderland – In Victorian England, the young and beautiful Alice tells a tale of a strange new land that exists on the other side of a rabbit hole. An invisible cat, a hookah smoking caterpillar and playing-cards that talk are just some of the fantastic things she’s seen during this impossible adventure. The cast includes newcomers Sophie Lowe and Peter Gadiot as well as Michael Socha (Being Human) (among others). From Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz (among others).

New Mid-Season Dramas:

Killer Women – Of all the notorious lawmen who have ever patrolled the violent Texas frontier, none are more storied than the Texas Rangers. But being the only female ranger in this elite squad isn’t going to stop ballsy, badass Molly Parker. Molly is committed to finding the truth and seeing justice served. The cast includes Tricia Helfer, Mark Blucas and Michael Trucco. From Hannah Shakespeare, Sofia Vergara and Martin Campbell (among others).

Mind Games – Clark and Ross Edwards are brothers and partners in a unique agency committed to solving clients’ problems using the hard science of psychological manipulation. The cast includes Steve Zahn, Christian Slate and Megalyn Echikunwoke. From Kyle Killen.

Resurrection – The people of Arcadia, Missouri are forever changed when their deceased loved ones suddenly start to return. The cast includes Omar Epps, Matt Craven, Kurtwood Smith, Mark Hildreth, Nicholas Gonzalez and Frances Fisher. From Aaron Zelman (among others).

NOTE: ABC is the first of the major networks to establish a new programming plan. Some of their established dramas will air in 12 episode batches, starting in the fall and ending approximately around mid-season at which time their short-run limited series will take over, running for a select amount of weeks and then the established shows will return for another 12 episode run. This will cut back on repeats and allow shows like Scandal, Revenge and Once Upon a Time to air in two distinct uninterrupted groups of originals episodes throughout the season.

The ABC shows that did not make it include: Body of Proof (which is being shopped around to cable networks), Happy Endings (which was supposedly being considered for pick up by USA Network), How To Live With Your Parents For the Rest of Your Life, Malibu Country and Red Widow.
